The first step to flawless make-up is a clean and fresh face!! My skincare routine is pretty minimal and I don’t like to use too many products on my face – no need to overwhelm it and possibly breakout. These are products that work for me and with the exception of the Clairsonic, are very reasonably priced!!
1. We’re all pretty much aware of the Clairsonic and it’s powers at this point. The key in my mind with this – is to not overuse it. I think it can do more harm than good if used too often which is why I tend to stick to twice a week!
2. Along with the Clairsonic I use the Fresh Soy Face Exfoliant. I started using this as a sample I got in one of the 100 point rewards from Sephora and really liked how, for lack of a better word, fresh my face felt after use!
3. The St. Ives Apricot Scrub has been my go-to drug store buy for years!! In my opinion it’s the best facial scrub out there and always keeps the blackheads at bay!! For the price and how long it lasts – you really can’t go wrong!!
4. Another long time favorite is the Ponds Moisturizer. The big bottle lasts me up to 4 months and I apply after the shower and first thing in the morning!! The one I use is for dry skin – but I have very normal skin and it doesn’t cause me to be oily or anything like that.
5. Now that I’m in my late 20’s (ahhh not even sure how that happened) I need to take care of my eyes and ensure that those fine lines and crows feet stay away as long as possible. Origins GinZing Eye Cream certainly lives up to it’s refreshing name and hydrates the eye area really well! The caffeine extracts from coffee beans is said to remove dark circles and perk up your eyes after a long night!!
These are the five items that I swear by along with a face mask here and there. While I’m certainly not an aesthetician – I can speak to these products and the results I’ve garnered from them. Just as important as the products we use maintaing a balanced diet with lots of water is equally important!! You can always “fake” great skin with make-up, but if you’re skin is glowing on it’s own that just means you can use less make-up right?!
It’s your turn – what are your go-to skin care products?
xo,
Biana
P.S. Our weekending link is below and will go live next Sunday/Monday for your weekending posts!! Really hope you’ll join!!
Love St Ives apricot scrub! My skincare routine is pretty simple. I use coconut oil to cleanse followed with a little egyptian magic at night. I use it as an eye cream also. It works really well. My eyes have been looking so refreshed every morning since I started, I also like Oil of Olay CC eye cream. I use that one in the morning. XO
That Clarasonic is on my next birthday list π I love my neutrogena face wash!

Love these!! You should check out Boscia's line of skin masks… Loveee them! I also love the Bobbi Brown eye cream!
My Clarisonic is my favorite thing ever! I'm so glad I got one! And I love the St Ives Apricot Scrub too! I've been meaning to try out the Origins GinZing Eye Cream! Can you really tell a difference?

Love all of these products – I might need to give that Fresh cleanser a try!

That apricot scrub is a life saver – I agree, it's the best out there!
All of these sound awesome! I really want to try out the eye cream! I've been looking for a good one!

I love my Clarisonic! It's my fave!
Yeah I'll be trying the Origins Starting Over age erasing eye cream, that I found on their website haha. You're smart to start using that stuff while you are still in your 20s, I wish that I did! :-/ Looking forward to your weekending posts too! π
I love this! I've yet to try the Clarisonic brush, but I might just need to! xo to you!
Oh, I love that idea for a linkup! If I share my week I usually do it in my Thursday or Friday post but maybe I will start switching it up! I swear by my clarisonic, but you're totally right on not overusing it. I'm still working through a deluxe sample I have of that eye cream and think I'll end up buying the full size when I'm done because it feels so nice and non-greasy! Do you use a night eye cream as well?
Great post!! Love my Clarisonic. You are so right the key is not to over use it. I tried the Fresh soy cleanser but couldn't get past the smell. I thought it worked well but the smell made my tummy turn. ha! Truth be told, I use the St. Ives scrub on my feet, it works wonders. Crazy, I know. Happy Hump Day!
Best, Mree
I love the apricot scrub! I don't have the clarisonic but I've heard so many good things about it – I'll have to pick it up to see what all the fuss is about!
I used to swear by the apricot scrub, but now I can't find the formula for sensitive skin anywhere! Otherwise, I swear by Aveeno products. I've been using them for years, and my skin always has agreed with them. I probably should get back into using my Clarisonic, and I may try out that Origins eye cream since my Benefit it's Potent! is almost out.
Thanks for posting this- I need a new routine and def need to think about a clarisonic purchase (I do love a good exfoliant a few times a week!)
Apparently I need a clarisonic but have yet to make the plunge. Its definitely the price tag but everyone swears by it. I need to find me a coupon π
You and I must think alike because I have a skincare post today, too! And I have two fresh products in mine regime. Love it so far!!
i've never tried the clarisonic before, but have always wanted to! i'm all about a minimalist skin care routine myself.
i want to try the clarisonic, but right now i just dont feel like i need it, and i dont want to do more harm than good. i love the st ives apricot scrub, and we use the target copy cat one too!
Well I'm pretty much loving my Clarisonic and I use the Origins GinZing eye cream, love it! I used to use the Apricot scrub, I don't anymore but Dustin does π Shhhh…
Oh, and my face product is my Philosophy Take a Deep Breath moisturizer! It's perfect for my oily skin π
I would love to try that origins eye cream!
Thanks for the info! I use hardly anything mostly because I don't want to spend the money but these are great affordable options. I remember using the apricot scrub in high school but I never use a scrub now. For moisturizer, I've used Neutrogena FOREVER and still love it π
I used to use the Clarisonic brush but I think I used it too much. And I was using alpha Hydroxy acid so i was over exfoliating. I did love how it made my skin feel!
I have not jumped on the Clarisonic bandwagon yet. I'm still skeptical! I will have to try that eye cream though!
I really like the Apricot scrub, I stick to only twice a week with the clarisonic too so it doesn't dry out my face.
I love my Clarisonic and totally felt a difference after the first couple of uses! I may need to try out that eye cream. I've been looking for a new one lately.
Girl! We have some very similar favorites in our skin care line. I use my Clarisonic a couple of times a week or when I wear heavy make-up. The Ginzing is my favorite eye cream ever! xo

I <3 Mario Badescu productsβ¦..they're pretty basic, and work great on my skinβ¦ I'm also in LOVEEEE with Kiehl's "Rare Earth" Deep Poor Cleansing Maskβ¦. I use once a week, and my skin feels amazing after! π
so smart about the clarisonic…i have one but stopped using it because i felt like it was hurting my skin, but i should have thought of just doing it less! XO
THANK YOU for the minimalist approach. I can't handle a ton of steps and products and rules hah. I love the apricot scrub (the version with salcylic acid is great, too)! Happy hump day!
Ooo! Can't wait to join the weekding link-up!! π
I love my Clarisonic and St Ives scrub too! I've heard such great things about the Origins Ginzing eye cream – I think I'm definitely going to have to try it! xx
that st. ives scrub is the best love it!
I've been using Effaclar Duo and it has done WONDERS for my breakouts. Like, I can't even explain to you what a difference it's made. I went from not wanting to go out b/c I felt like a monster (it was mild acne but to someone who wasn't used to breakouts it felt MUCH worse) to having almost perfectly clear skin. At first it dried me out a little, but, I just used a washrag and scrubbed to get the flakes off and it went away. Total godsend!
that apricot scrub has been around since the 80s, i swear. i am pretty sure my mom used it when i was a kid. they do have some great products for the price. am i the only female in america without a clarisonic? i need one! maybe a good 30th bday present, haha
yes!!!! I would tell you to wait till the holidays because they have sales but actually check Nordstroms now they may have a deal going on with their sale right now.
I love this post! I am going to have to try these products! I am always so bad at picking out products for my beauty routine! and I love the link up! π

I love that Fresh line so much! I got the soy cleanser as a sample and hoarded like every drop of it. I need to bite the bullet and get the full size but clothes shopping always gets in the way! Love your collage totally pinned it π xoxoxo
I am definitely having to pay attention to my eye area more now! I am excited to try this cream!

I LOVE the Ginzing eye cream! I use it during the daytime and it's perfectly light and helps cover up those dark circles! You are the second person today to recommend the Fresh face wash so I'm going to have to check that out. And as always obsessed with my Clarisonic π Best purchase ever!
The clarasonic is amazing for the sling
Is like better than microdermabrasion
Totally love it.
Great post.

It is so interesting to me how everyone has their own unique facial process. I actually only use organic products (I love The Organic pharmacy— but it is expensive!), because I have really sensitive skin and I don't want to add too many chemicals etc. to the equation. I have been intrigued by the clarisonic, but haven't bit the bullet. Mostly because I am cared it may be too rough for my face!
Thanks for sharing! To be honest, I've been REALLY bad with having a routine up until last year! I literally never washed my face at night. I only put moisturizer on after a shower. That's it. So now I'm trying to find products and take care of my skin and I've had so many allergic reactions and break outs! It drives me nuts! I've heard so many great things about the clarisonic! I have it written on my wish list! π
The GinZing eye cream is fantastic! I love how it brightens up my eyes in an instant!
