It’s no secret around these parts that I love to watch TV. It’s my way to zone out and relax! Summer is a little slow in terms of good quality shows and now that Fall is just around the corner, there are some favorites back, some new ones I’m excited to watch and a few that I’ve got my eye on to see how they turn out to be!! Let’s get right to the fall line-up!
Tried & True Favorites
The Mindy Project

This is probably one of the best comedies out there! Mindy Kaling’s self deprecating humor on the show makes her that much more lovable!! Also, this is one of the few shows that Gary will watch with me!
The Good Wife
9/21 on CBS 9:30 PM
If you have any doubts about this show – last season started with one of the main characters being killed off and Julianna Margulies just won the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Drama! Enough said!
The Voice
9/22 on NBC 8:00 PM
I’m a fan of the original judges, but I think it will be interesting to see the dynamic between these 4 – but let’s be honest, Blake & Adam steal the show every season!! This is pretty much the only singing competition I watch.
Scandal
9/25 on ABC 9:00 PM
Olivia Pope – enough said right!? At least this season we wont have to worry about obscure placement of plants and purses to hide her growing baby bump!! Shonda Rhimes is a writing genius, so I can’t wait to see what curve balls she throws at us this season!
Homeland

While I realize not everyone has Showtime, this is a must watch for us. Gary and I binge watched all three seasons in the Spring and have been

Madam Secretary

This show is about a medical examiner that solves criminal cases to find the reason behind his immortality! While I don’t typically go for “fantasy” shows – I like to stick to things that can happen in real life, this show sounds intriguing.
How to Get Away With Murder

This is probably the show I’m most excited to premier. Another brain child on Shonda Rhimes so we know it’s going to be amazing!!
Marry Me

The title alone has me excited to watch this show, but it also has Casey Wilson (Penny from Happy Endings) as the lead and she is absolutely hilarious!!! Also it’s from the creators of Happy Endings, which I’m still a little bitter that they cancelled! You can watch some of the previews here.

I feel like I should watch The Mindy Project + Homeland now. And The Good Wife. To be honest, we don't watch a lot of TV (and no cable). I cannot wait for scandal though, and I really want to watch selfie purely to support Karen Gillan. and you should too 😉

Going to watch The Mindy Project, I've heard a lot of good things about it! Also Marry Me sounds cute! My husband is obsessed with Homeland, I should watch it with him – but u enjoy lighter tv… Parenthood is my favorite show, so bummed this is the last season!

That Madame Secretary show looks really good I think that I'll watch that!! 🙂 I'm a devoted American Idol watcher/fan, but I may check out The Voice this year. I've never watched Scandal, the Mindy Project I've watched a few times and yes she is pretty funny. I'm looking forward to watching Modern Family and Chicago PD again though. I LOVE the Mindy Project! One of my favorite shows on TV 🙂 I like the Voice too but I think they run it a bit too much, once a year would be better and easier to keep up with!

One of my (only) favorite things about fall are all the new shows! I LOVE Scandal! I'm all caught up and can't wait for the premier. I keep hearing great stuff about The Good Wife so perhaps now is the time for some binge watching on Netflix. And Madame Secretary looks intriguing! I'm definitely going to give this one a try!

So many shows I haven't heard of! I feel out of the loop– the shows we watched last fall all got cancelled (hostages & betrayal). I just watched the trailer for Madam Secretary & it looks good! I'm also really interested to see what they do with Homeland next!
Scandal and Homeland are my two favs! I literally CAN NOT wait for them to return. Also, I am looking forward to the last season of Boardwalk Empire!

I get really excited about fall shows too! I'm a TV junky! I will have to check Marry Me out. I also think homeland may be our next binge session TV show! My husband and I have been watching 'Married' on FX… it is really funny! There have only been a few episodes so it's an easy one to catch up on. Not that you will be lacking in shows to watch, obviously 🙂

I am seriously behind on TV. We hardly ever watch but lately has been watching an episode per day of True Blood – and that's it. Sometimes I want to just have a marathon of TV watching. These shows look pretty good so at least I have a head start on what to watch.
