Happy Monday friends!! What a whirlwind weekend spent with one of my dearest friends from college in Philadelphia! Our idea of a fun night out is pretty different than it was back in the day, but we still got ready like we did when we were 21! If you’re supposed to have a Philly cheesesteak on your first visit to the city- then I totally failed, but we did have some epic food so as per usual I apologize in advance if this causes any hunger pains!!
My weekend really started on Thursday night when I met up with Amandato head to The Everygirland Kendal-Jacksonwine night out event!! Bringing a bit of Sonoma to Boston- we had the best time learning all about the wines, flavors and of course sipping on some summer favorites! My favorite thing about blogging is all the wonderful friends I’ve made. It’s amazing that you can form friendships with people you’ve never met and when you do meet- it’s like you’ve been friends for years!
Friday morning I made my way to Philly to visit Krissy and a hang out with her kiddies & husband. Gary had been out of town all week at a conference so it was the perfect excuse me to take a quick weekend trip
Our first stop was Parc Restaurant in Rittenhouse Square!! The heat this weekend was so oppressive that it almost made the desire to eat go away, almost!! We split a delicious charcuterie board & their fresh mozzarella and tomato salad.
I fell in love hard with the beautiful tree lined streets and adorable brownstones with flower boxes! I couldn’t believe how much of the city reminded me of Greenwich village in NYC or even some parts of Paris!! Absolutely LOVED it!
This was probably one of the first times where I wasn’t in charge of making reservations and I seriously loved being along for the ride! For dinner she introduced me to Harp & Crown which has a really great restoration hardware vibe & ambiance to it. The seating was a little interesting since we were on the side that was basically one long couch – seated next to each other with a small table reminiscent of something you’d take a standardized test on!!
Regardless of that – the food was delicious and were pretty stuffed from the few small plates we shared.
I didn’t have much in my Philly bucket list, but Saturday was all about exploring- both with Krissy & the boys, as well as on my own when it was their nap time! Over the course of the day I walked close to 11 miles – bright side, I feel like I really saw a lot of the city!
Fun fact: Rocky IV is one of my favorite movies!
Walked along the Schuykill Trail towards the Philadelphia Museum of Art – home of the “Rocky Steps”
Went back to Rittenhouse Square
Did some door creeping while getting “lost” walking around
Visited the liberty bell! This actually threw me for a loop because that’s something I do remember from my first trip & I was certain that my mom and I saw it outside – which we did because it’s been in this building for a little over 10 years or so!
After all the walking I did – Krissy & Eric took me to Sampan. I’m always up for a little Asian fusion and the food was so good! The menu was really designed for sharing and we ordered a little bit of everything, but the crab tacos were probably the most delicious thing I ate all weekend!
I had been talking about frosé all weekend long and it just so happened that the first place in Philly to offer it, Bud & Marilyn’s was close to Sampan so I introduced them to my favorite summer drink!! Happy to report I’ve converted them into frosé fans!
Some honorable mentions of the weekend: delicious bagel breakfast at Spread Bagelry, seeing all the food vendors at Reading Terminal Market & the shopping on Walnut Street. One of the best weekends of the summer & I’m not at all ready for the start of the week! How was your weekend? Link up below to share it with us!

What a fun weekend in Philly! That's great you had a chance to visit your friend and play tourist too. I've been to the suburbs of Philly so many times but only downtown once to see the Liberty Bell. Can you believe we couldn't find it?! It was after a college tennis match and after searching and searching we gave up haha! It's good to know it's inside for next time. Happy Monday!

What a fun little getaway to see your friend!!
So happy you got a weekend in my home town! Philly is the best!! Parc is SO good and I love Rittenhouse. I can't believe you didn't get a cheesesteak!! I'm a total weirdo and prefer this place called King's in Reading Terminal over the usual places. But anything in Reading Terminal is delicious and awesome. Now I know where to grab frose next time I am home!!
What a fun weekend! All of that food (and those drinks) look amazing!
I may be biased because I live here, but Philly really is a great city! So glad you were able to see so much!
Sounds like the perfect little weekend getaway! Glad you had such a great time, minus the crazy heat. And all of that food looks delicious! I'm all about that charcuterie! Happy Monday babe! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

What a fun weekend you had. Philly is so much fun. You really do live a charmed life, so jealous. Happy Monday Pretty Lady!!
What a fun weekend! I've only been to Philly once and we only got to stay one day, so we didn't get to do much…I'd love to go back and see more of the city! xx
It sounds like you had such a wonderful time! That's definitely something I love about blogging, too, you connect with so many different people and over time, you do feel like you've known each other forever! That said, I can't wait until I can possibly meet you and perhaps do a double date?! Those streets look so cute and charming and definitely reminiscent of Greenwich Village and even Park Slop, Brooklyn, have you been?! Brooklyn is so up and coming these days, you have to visit different parts your next time in NY. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

Looks like a lovely weekend in Philly! We went for a family reunion a couple months ago and really enjoyed the city. It has a great foodie scene and so much history – and some of those neighborhoods were just so beautiful! Oh, and that Wine Night Out event looks amazing!
That wine night looked so fun, especially with the views of the water. How gorgeous are those doors, and yay for finding frose! Cheers to a fabulous week gurlie <3

The heat was back here this weekend too. UGH.
All that walking is exactly why you need all that yummy food;)
Your friend looks like Rebecca Romijn Stamos – or whatever her name is now.
Hooray for getting to spend some time with a great friend and explore a new city while Gary was out of town! I always try to get away when Chris is out of town as well because it just makes the weekend better if I'm with people versus by myself. I hope that your week is off to a great start!
I always love visiting your blog because I know that I'm going to see lots of beautiful pictures! Y'all always have the best weekends!
Omg I love this!! I live in Philly so I definitely need to do a wine event soon 🙂
