Low Country & A Wedding

It’s Monday and I’m back with a photo overload and Charleston recap. I’ve heard only fantastic things about Charleston and it totally lived up to the hype!! It’s definitely a food lovers city – you really can’t go wrong with any choice there – but we stopped at some great places and I decided to highlight those first!

39 Rue De Jean// Right off King Street – this restaurant was good and we came right after the lunch time rush. The decor & service were good, but the food was really heavy and greasy. I did enjoy the french onion soup!

Hanks Seafood// Probably my favorite meal in all of Charleston! I had the Charleston she crab soup and  roasted salmon. AH-MAY-ZING!!! The food and atmosphere were great!!

Leaf:  We had the bridesmaid luncheon at Leaf and the shrimp risotto was fantastic!! All the other girls raved about their food as well – so this one is a must in my book! The had truffled parmesan fries…enough said!

The food at these two places was so good I didn’t take any photos – I just got right to eating!!

Poogan’s Porch: This is a staple in Charleston and the spot of the rehearsal dinner. We had a pre-fixe menu, but it didn’t disappoint!! If you happen to go – you must try their famous bread pudding – SO GOOD!!

Fire Street Food: We randomly came across this gem on King Street on our final afternoon and it has such an eclectic menu! Any place that offers sushi, burgers & pad thai is a winner in my eyes!!

On to what we saw!

When we got to Charleston on Wednesday, we had all day to explore and explore we did…according to my Fit Bit we walked 22,000 steps that day!!

Just some of the amazing houses we saw!

Charleston is a city of fountains

Per the advice of so many people I pre-ordered a carriage tour for us through Palmetto Carriage for Thursday morning. A fun fact is that each carriage tour has to choose a route before their allowed to continue on – so you could theoretically get different “zones” on any tour you go on. It’s a great way to see some of the side streets, learn the history of the city & rest your feet while the horses do the walking!!

True Story//What used to be the “Wall Street” of the South//

Ally’s house in The Notebook – the scene where Ryan Gosling meets her parents//

And now onto my best friends wedding!!

We woke up that morning and there was not a cloud in the sky and it was the most perfect day to get married!! The bridal party got ready at the Thomas Bennet House, which is the same place the reception took place. Krissy was without a doubt one of the most beautiful brides and one of the calmest too!

Wedding Day Barbie!!

I’m really glad the stylist chose to go with a double braid

Married!

Their tented reception was beautiful!

All the bridesmaids got their pick of any dress in the color mocha!! I chose Dessy 2880 (in case any one was wondering).

The wedding was a blast and we sent the couple off with a bubble exit!

One of our favorite romantic vacations to date!! We’ll definitely be back and hopefully next time in the summer so we can check out the beaches!

Sadly, back to reality today!!

Thanks so much for reading and if you have any questions about anything we saw or did in Charleston please let me know!

xo,

Biana
