Tis the season and I don’t just mean the holiday season, I mean winter! Similar to my Fall Bucket List, I have a few things I definitely want to get done this winter!
Holiday Movie Watching
Holiday Movie Watching
Everyone has their must watch holiday movies and mine happen to be Love Actually and the Holiday. I have to watch these with a glass of wine, cozy & comfy clothes and let’s not forget the tree has to be lit!
Skating
Skating
If you can’t beat them, join them…the “them” being winter so you might as well enjoy it!! I’ve gone ice skating at the Frog Pond almost every year since moving to Boston and it never gets old!!
Snow Activities

I haven’t been skiing since I was 16 and I’m deathly afraid of falling, but hopefully we’ll make it to the mountains later in the season! That’s why they invented Apres Skiing right?! One thing we do always manage to get in is sledding…we have a huge hill near our house and it’s so much fun to do a few runs down the hill!
Fanueil Hall
Fanueil Hall

Sure it’s a bit of a zoo during the holidays, but what place isn’t!? There are usually a bunch of sights to take in and a lot of the shops are especially festive this time of year! Side note the only Origins in the city of Boston is located in Fanueil Hall so I always go in!
Boston Pops Holiday Shows
Boston Pops Holiday Shows

We have a fantastic symphony here and during the holidays they have so many great shows, including the one I really want to see which is the Home Alone Pops and if that doesn’t workout then the regular holiday pops will be great!
Ringing in the New Year
Ringing in the New Year
What’s my favorite part about this holiday season?! Ringing in the New Year!!! We’re going to be celebrating with my cousin and his soon to be wife in New Jersey and I couldn’t be more excited!! Last year we did the at home New Years and while it was fun, we were ready for a little more excitement this year!
See In Theaters
See In Theaters
We rarely go to the movies anymore, but sometimes there are movies that are enhanced by watching them in theaters and these two just happen to be ones I really want to see! Then when it gets really cold outside you can find me on the couch binge watchingHouse Of Cardswhen the new season comes out on February 27th!
What’s on your winter to-do list?!
P.S. I’m also over on Samantha’s blog today, stop by if you can!
xo,
There are so many things we want to do this holiday season before it slips away – our annual holiday movie pajama party and ice skating in Central Park are definitely at the top of the list!
Omg I love those movies!! They are so holiday movies–I'd even add Serendipity in there too π
You have some great things on your list!!
I'm definitely going to be seeing Unbroken!! I've been waiting for this movie since I read the book 2 years ago!
I am so jealous of all of your fun winter activities! Since we don't get snow I definitely don't get to go sledding or skiing but I wish I could! And we have ice skating rinks but they're usually SO small and crowded that I don't even bother. I am going to watch The Holiday soon though!

What a fun list, lady! You truly captured the winter spirit for sure. I'm not a big movie goer [since I kind of work with them] but those look like they'd be great. Although I can't see Unbroken. The book made me sick to my stomach just reading it, so I doubt I could see everything happen. GREAT READ, though!
I need to go skating!
love the holiday and love actually OF course. i need to go skating too. still weirds me out that there is a skating rink in florida but hey it's better than nothing. sounds like you have a lot of fun stuff on your list girl! xo

I have only been ice skating a couple times. At ice skating parties when I was younger and it was a disaster. I just can't lol. I am that clumsy girl that could never roller skate/blade right lol. I didn't learn to ride a bike until 3rd grade. I don;t even know if I still can. My un-athleticness carries over into so many aspects of life lol. We will be close ringing in the New Year! I live in PA. Have a great day! xo
I miss Boston this time of year! Nothing puts you more in the spirit then tooling around the city and seeing all the pretty lights and snow on the ground!
This looks like the most fun list ever!! I fully support all of these adventures!!!
ahh im so excited for the return of house of cards — def something to look forward to in the new year! xo jillian – cornflake dreams
Love love love The Holiday! I actually need to buy a copy! Also, I totally want to see Unbroken, but really want to read the book first.:) Happy Holidays!!!
YES to all the holiday movies! Throw in some Christmas cookies and hot cocoa and that's my idea of a perfect night π
Love Actually is one of my all time favorites! I love everything about it. We don't have snow for activities, but there are plenty of other winter activities that I am looking forward to.

Peaches In A Pod
I love those two movies and a must for the season. I am so afraid of breaking something but I want to try to snowboard.
LOL i haven't rung in the new year since….. 2000? i'm lame and just go to bed!!
The Holiday is my favorite! It's so cute and funny – I had a major crush on Jude Law! I've never been to Boston, but it looks dreamy during the holidays!

Loving your list!! I need a good holiday movie to snuggle up with Eric and watch… but with our busy schedules the only holiday movies we will get around to watching are the Mia friendly ones, HA! Polar Express would be a good one!
I hope you post a ton of pictures as you sight see around Boston… you know I can't get enough! I'd love to be there are Christmas time someday! (I mean really, I want to be there all the time, HA!)
Just love Christmas movies! π & those pictures are just awesome, loving the snow! haha π

Some times I wish I could move out of FL to somewhere cold just for the month of December so i could do all those fun holiday snow activities!! Ice skating sounds so fun and I have sooooo many Christmas movies I have to watch around the holidays! The Santa Clause being my fav haha! I hate 2 and 3 though! Totally ruined it!

Love both of those Christmas movies!!! My favorite part is that those are the only 2 chick flicks my hubby will watch with me!
Boston looks like such a fun place at Christmas!! I am with you on the skiing – I lived in Denver for 3 years and never once went skiing! haha. Great list!
Boston is so fantastic at Christmas time. So much to do, so little time. I cannot wait to see Unbroken!! Looks amazing!!
I always forget about The Holiday! It's such a cute movie. I'm dying to see The Theory of Everything too!
I really need to watch Love Actually don't I? I've never seen it! But I LOVE The Holiday, such a great movie! The Theory of Everything looks amazing, I can't wait to see that one! I wish we could go ice skating here. I think they might have an indoor ice skating rink but it's not the same!
What a fun winter/holiday season bucket list! The Holiday is one of my all-time favorite movies – it just always puts me in the best mood. Funny story – I actually attempted to get my hair cut like Cameron Diaz's in the movie my sophomore year of college … needless to say, it didn't look THAT good and that's why I'm now always hesitant to cut it short! Ha! Ryan played hockey growing up, so we almost always try to get out to go skating, too!
Looks like you're a lot better at being out in the cold than I am! Haha. I'm definitely not one to ski (I seriously can't stop unless I crash!)…but I'm more than willing to be waiting at the bar at the bottom of the mountain! I'd love to see a symphony holiday performance!
my friend and i were talking about going skating!! i'm so excited!
Oh my gosh I loveeee the Holiday! I tried to get Ryan to watch it once and he hated it because it was so slow lol. I want to see the Theory of Everything but may wait to rent that at home⦠there would definitely be some waterworks!
Love all of this! Watched The Holiday on Thanksgiving and I just love it! And I would love to do some snow activities but we struggle with that here in NC! Oh well — maybe one day I'll get a white Christmas!
xo Southern Style
Great list lady!! Love Actually is one of my favorite movies too. I haven't being skiing since I was 15 but would love to go some time. Pretty pictures of Boston too. There is something magical about cities at Christmas. π
Those are my holiday movie go-to's too! Add the Christmas tree, wine, comfy clothes… And a box of tissues for me. I cry in each of them, every time!
I love The Holiday and Love Actually too! I haven't been sledding in forever, but it sounds like so much fun! I hope you have a blast celebrating New Year's with your cousin! π
I said to J last night–it's unacceptable that I haven't watched a single xmas movie yet this season. I feel like a little piece of my heart has died. I need to remedy this stat!
All fabulous things that make it feel more Christmas-y although I've never had a white Christmas and I've always wanted to try ice skating but I'm sure that would be a shit show!!
Those are my two favorite holiday movies! So festive and fun! And Cameron's outfits in The Holiday-beyond!
Such great films I too rarely go to the movies but I can not wait to see that love story so amazing. There is nothing better than a great true love story!

I love holiday movies! I have big plans to sit and watch a couple in the next few days!
I never seen Love Actually. Maybe I should do that… I'm originally from MN & I miss skating so much. It's not so much of a thing down here in Texas haha.
This is the perfect winter bucket list! I am excited to see Unbroken. It looks so good! And very excited for the new season of House of Cards!
I bet the Boston Pops are awesome! LOVE Love Actually and The Holiday. Can't wait to watch those again this year. I think Unbroken is going to be a good movie. I have it on my list to go see!

Yes to all of this but especially to The Holiday! One of my all time favs! (Mom and I watch every year!) Happy Wednesday pretty lady! xo
Yes to all of it. The snow in the mountains is late here this year and I am DYING to get back on my skiis. And I think we're going to take our daughter ice skating for the first time this year. I was an ice skater as a kid and love it so much.
Love Actually is my favorite holiday movie. π
I plan to see lots of movies over the holidays. I love going!
My mom, sister and I are going to the Pops next week. I can't wait!!
Sounds like great new year plans! I'll be at work, but it ends up being not too terrible – theres a pitch in and we drink sparkling juice all day long π

Watching The Holiday is definitely on my list, and ice skating π
I love the last note about House of Cards. I never understood the obsession until we watched it over the summer and now that we are all caught up I am ready for a new season! I am also looking forward to going ice skating this Christmas.
I haven't seen The Holiday in awhile. I need to find that on Netflix.
The first time I have ever been to Boston was last year around Christmas and I fell in love with all of the Christmas decor. What a beautiful city.
This is a great winter to do list! Ice skating and watching ALL of the holiday movies are on mine, too. It's been so long since I've seen The Holiday and I'm thinking I should probably start with that one!
Oh lord, Jude Law in the Holiday is like my un-doing and so see the Theory of Everything – Eddie is pretty amazing!!!
No ice skating for this gal, but the concert event looks so fun! Did you read Unbroken? Cannot WAIT for the movie!
Fabulous list!!!!
What a great list!! Those are two of my favorite movies. I've already watched Love Actually this year! We were considering staying home for New Year's because we arrive back from our holiday the day before, but then I remembered I have a sequin dress to wear. I can't stay home if I'm wearing a sequin dress!
Aaaah I freaking love Quincy Market and Fanueil Hall! All the foooodddd….
There's nothing I love more then a good christmas movie! Also all of the lights!
xo ClassToCloset
We need to re-watch those movies soon too, and do basically everything else on your list lol So perfect,
xx 365hangers
I really want to see The Theory of Everything because it has Felicity Jones in it, though I might wait till DVD. That ice skating picture is so pretty – I can't wait to ice skate in NYC. I have never ice skated on real ice before, only man made inside back home. Those are my 2 favourite holiday movies, as well as Bridget Jones.. and ok, The Santa Clause.
Great list! The Holiday and Love Actually should be a requirement during December π And I've managed to convince my fiance to take my ice skating in down town Phoenix and I can.not.wait!

I love this line up! I've never been to a symphony and I kinda want to go to the New Year's Party you have pictured. We are probably going to be snowboarding so it'll be a different kinda party.
Both good holiday movies! I've only watched one so far this year but need to start watching more!!
YES! I also want to see those movies!
I simply love everything about this post. And I LOVE the movie The Holiday, it's one of my favs during this holiday season.
Every year for Christmas Eve we go to Rockefeller Center and ice skate under the tree. It is so magical. I dont know if that is going to be able to happen with the hubby's busted ankle this year but next year – it's on! Hehe!
Such fun you have planned for this holiday season! Love the movie Holiday, not such a fan of Cameron Diaz but can totally tolerate her enough for the sake of the movie. π Love holiday movies!
I just watched Holiday and Love Actually is one of my favorite as well. You have such a great plan how to spend these holidays.
xoxo

I have never seen the Holiday & Love Actually! I'm so embarrassed to admit. I am dying to try ice skating. Also, I am about to start rewatching House of Cards! So obsessed! xoxo
Such a great list! I'm sad I wont be able to do a lot of these things, but at least I watch some Christmas movies!!! I just love the holidays!

i can;t wait to have a holiday movie marathon!
Holiday movies are a must. I love the holiday, A smokey mountain Christmas, and Edward Scissorhands (Yes I know this really isn't a Christmas movie…).
What great ideas, Biana! I wish there was somewhere to go ice skating outside around here but it doesn't happen much in the south. You'll have to do it up {for both of us} and then post about it.

Love Christmas films. Elf is my favourite!
So many great things on your list! I love the movie the Holiday too! π I set up as many DVR's of Christmas movies as I can so that I can watch them whenever I want. Ice skating or skiing would be fun too! π
I feel like I haven't done many holiday related things yet because it's coming up on us so quickly! I need to get some movie watching done!
Love this! Im telling you I have snow envy. I love winter! The holiday movies are a must wherever and in whatever weather though!
