January Goals

January Goals

via

I personally don’t believe in resolutions, mostly because I set myself up for failure from the get go! I’d rather go the route of monthly goals since I get a huge sense of accomplishment at the end seeing what I’ve crossed off the list and what still needs to be done! Just add this to the list of, well lists, that I keep daily!!

Bring lunch 4 times a week to work//

I usually do a good job of bringing lunch to work, but at the end of last year I started to regress to only bringing it once a week!!! We’ll see how I do since our cafe has seriously delicious lunches, but hopefully these lunch variations will be more exciting than the salads I’m use to!

Read 2 books//

I currently have DVF – The Woman I wanted to Be on my kindle ready to be read and I’m in need of a more fun read to round out the month. Suggestions welcome!! I did just finish reading Prada & Prejudice. Really fluffy and if you can get past the author’s obvious pushing of british slang then it’s not a bad .99 purchase!!

Send 3 pieces of snail mail//

via

I love getting mail (not bills!!) but notes from my friends and family, so I thought I’d share the love and try to send three pieces of snail mail! Plus I have so much stationary and I need to start using it!!

Plan out 2 weeks worth of blog posts ahead of time//

Blog Editorial Calendar How To

Not getting over zealous here and trying to have these posts written out, but to have a good idea of what two weeks out will look like blog wise will make writing much easier. Maybe even starting an editorial calendar will help a bit!!

No M&M’s for the month//

This one is a little weird, but I have a little bit of an addiction.I find myself stopping at least twice a week for just a little bag of M&M’s and this just needs to stop, at least for this month anyway!!

Organize photos from London & Paris//

This was sadly supposed to happen back in October and time just got away from me!! I printed out all our pictures from our honeymoon, but in an effort to be more efficient in 2015, I’m going to go the route of hard cover book from Shutterfly! P.S. they are having a crazy sale right now!

What about you, do prefer monthly goals or yearly goals?

xo,

I usually bring my lunch to work every day, and only eat lunch out occasionally. It's not just great for my wallet but my waistline as well πŸ™‚

Love the idea of monthly goals as I'm not big on New Year's resolutions either. You've got this gurlie!!

As I just made my lunch of leftover crockpot chicken and take my coffee to go…..that is the two biggest ways people tell you to save money and then invest. You know I will be gladly happy to be on the receiving end of that snail mail I am totally with you on that!

I have resolutions but I break them down into monthly/quarterly goals. I loved the book The Life Intended recently. It blew me away. I am working on doing a Blog Calendar too this year, i always feel like i am scrambling on Sunday to do drafts and come up with ideas. I want to be more organized with posts.

look at these great goals. i'll tell you what – i am packing my lunches now that i'm on a budget! it's hard though. and good for you for doing some blog planning. i can't get on that train. i have tried and then fail because other ideas come up and i hate when they aren't relevant. i digress. LOVE DVF's book. love. i'm going to read wild after that. i'm all in the inspirational mode for life right now πŸ˜‰ brb off to get m&ms because now i want them

Those are great goals! I always brought lunch when I worked in an office. Sometimes I bring lunch with me to the store, otherwise I just bring a snack. I bought a book for this last trip and I didn't read it, haha. I will now though. I love getting snail mail too. πŸ™‚ You can do it lady! I hope that you are having a good day so far too.

Great goals, girl! I'm with you on setting them monthly – I never stick to the dreaded New Years resolutions. That's too funny about M&M's … I currently have two massive bags in my pantry because I didn't get a chance to use them for holiday baking as I had planned. That could get dangerous!

NO!!! Blogger just ate my comment! But I knew I liked you–no M&Ms! Too cute! I have an entire drawer in my desk designated for candy! I can't make the goal "no candy" though because I'm in writing mode so the candy is necessary since I don't smoke or drink heavily while writing. But who am I kidding…the candy is also necessary during revision mode and edit mode so basically…my books are brought to you by candy πŸ™‚

I don't do resolutions either, mostly because I forget about them two days in. I really like the idea of setting goals for the month, it seems much more attainable. Planning ahead when it comes to blogging is wonderful. I did that when I was away last week, had everything set and ready to go so I had nothing to do and it was an amazing feeling. That scramble is never very fun. Definitely going to have to try to do that more.

I totally agree with NOT setting resolutions because once I'm off track then I just give up. I try to give myself weekly goals and monthly goals. I adore the idea of snail mail, I need to do this. I am actually going to go look for cute little packs of cards to send randomly to friends. I prefer seasonal goals. It allows me to focus on several aspects of my life, but not stress about getting them all done in one month. If I made yearly goals, I wouldn't hold myself accountable or take them seriously.

I really need to get better about snail mail. It is so fun to get something that isn't a bill or junk! I am working on a 21 day detox right now. No sugar, no alcohol, no white flour and no dairy…so I feel you on the M&M's. No dairy has been the hardest struggle and I am only on day two!!

I'm the same, no big yearly goals for me either. No m&m's isn't silly, I feel ya. I gave up all sweets just for this month. LOVE your goals for the month! Snail mail is my fave… I really need to get back into that! I love receiving it, so I need to be better about sending it!
I need to add reading books to my goals. I have this horrible habit of neglecting everything until I finish the book I'm reading… and since I have a toddler now, it's impossible to just neglect everything for the day (or three) that it takes me to finish a book πŸ™ ha ha!

Great January goals! Especially the one about planning out blogs ahead of time. It's not the easiest to do, but it's much less stressful.
Also, anything by Rainbow Rowell is an excellent choice for a fun read. I'd recommend Attachments or Fangirl. Also, Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, a story about a kickass female assassin.

Great goals! Too funny about the M&M's πŸ™‚ I'm with you on the bringing a lunch to work… and being pregnant and not being able to eat lunch meat makes things much more complicated! I find myself having PB&J or salads a lot πŸ™‚ Haha! πŸ™‚
