Okay, so I might be a tad biased here, but living in New England in the Fall makes the harsh winter a bit more bearable! I decided I was going to move to Boston when I was 9 years old – I would visit my sister a few times a year and fall in love with everything that the city offered. I’m not sure if I ever mentioned this here before, but I actually moved here a week after graduating from college – no job, a few friends (like 2) and the support of my sister. I somehow (seriously job searching during 2009 was brutal) landed a full-time job and was able to start my new adventure!! It’s hard to believe that I’ve lived in Boston for over 7 years, but with this city being home now – I thought I’d share a few fun reasons of why Fall here might just be the best! In no particular order…

1. Fall foliage || You get a solid month of beautiful foliage before the leaves start to fall off the trees. But during that month it’s seriously gorgeous and the colors are so rich! It seems like every other photo on my instagram is of trees and leaves right now! There is actually an entire highway in New Hampshire dedicated to the fall foliage tour called the Kancamangus – with stopping points along the way to take in all the gorgeous sites.
2. Layering without sweating || Okay so this doesn’t really apply to us this week since it’s in the 70s & 80s, but usually this time of year means the weather is semi predictable meaning we aren’t dealing with weather “mood” swings of freezing in the morning and sweltering by midday! That means trench coats, sweaters, leather jacket – you name it – all get to be worn!! Oh and let’s not forget all of those fab boots and booties!
3. All the Fall things || Growing up in Florida I honestly didn’t get the whole pumpkin, apple picking, farm thing – probably because it wasn’t as prevalent there or if it was, I just didn’t do it! It’s easier, for me at least, to get into the spirit of this season because of the weather! Baking, pumpkin picking and being outside is so much more enjoyable when the weather cooperates! My sister’s amazing Apple Pie Recipe is a staple every year!
4. Salem, MA || I’ve only been to Salem once right before Halloween and it is totally all it’s cracked up to be. The people in the town and shop owners go all out and it’s pretty entertaining! Apparently it’s home to America’s biggest Halloween party! So if you love Halloween then it’s definitely a place to visit! Salem Witch Trials anyone…
5.Connecticut Wine Trail|| There might not be as many vineyards and wineries as there are in California, but there are 25 along the trail and that spells a pretty fantastic weekend to me! We haven’t done the trail yet, but I’m hoping it’s something we can explore soon!
Have you visited New England in the Fall? What’s your favorite Fall activity?
I would love to visit New England in the fall! And I absolutely love how you just up and moved to Boston! That took some major guts – so happy everything worked out for you!
I'm with Emily–I would love to visit YOU during the Fall. New England would be the added bonus π
Ha! I only need one reason! This is an area of the country that I am dying to explore more of. These pictures are so cute and you look fabulous!

Absolutely gorgeous!! The scenery and YOU!! Love the Olive and black together!
I really want to visit Salem around Halloween. I bet it's so fun!
So so beautiful! I bet Salem is awesome this time of the year. Love your outfit π
You are making me want to book a trip to Boston right now! Loving all your pictures and fun ideas for fall!! Now how soon can I come visit?! π
Keep posting all of your fall pictures! I've got to live vicariously through you for fall since it's going to be pushing 90 degrees here today π If I could get your fall without the super brutal winter, I would be 100% ok with that!
You forgot the most important thing…..YOU!!!!! I'm so bummed I've missed out on Boston trips o meet you!
This is such a great post, beautiful! I've only ever been to Boston once and it was an overnight trip, so I didn't really get to do much. We're now in CT, though the lower region, but I'll have to look into the wineries and vineyards you've shared here, thanks so much! I think I mentioned yesterday how we were planning on going this past weekend, but we had no idea where we were going to go #lastminute. Oh, and how cute are those Cinderella pumpkins!? I'll have to check out your sister's apple pie recipe you've linked, I'm sure it's delicious; I know you've raved about other desserts she's made, the strawberry shortcake, right? Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have the most amazing week ahead!

I bet New England is just gorgeous in the fall. I can't believe how much the trees are already changing in these pictures! Wearing fall layers without sweating is key — it's going to be 85 degrees here today and finding a fall outfit was pretty challenging for work!!

SO beautiful! Makes me miss being up there this time of year!! I have a good college friend who lived in Salem for a long time and she always talked about how nuts it got during Halloween. I hope that you are having a great week so far!! π
I would love to visit that area – especially in the Fall! It's beautiful up there. Such great pictures!!
Fall is just the best in beautiful parts of the world where trees are abundant.
Layering… its 90 degrees here today. I'm waiting for that one still.
i love that you decided to move to Boston so young and did it! that's awesome, especially moving with pretty much nothing/knowing no-one. it's not easy, and i'm glad it worked out! new england definitely wins all the fall awards.
YES!! New England in the Fall really is special!!

The one time I've been to Boston was in October and it was GORGEOUS! If only winter didn't have to come after this… (or ever lol)
New England sounds beautiful! Love fall foliage and wine so it sounds like we definitely have to add it to our list of places to visit!
New England in the fall has been on my bucket list since I was old enough to have a bucket list! One of these days we WILL make it up there! I've heard that nothing even compares!
I have got to say the thing I miss most about living up north is the true four seasons!!! Our fall here only lasts such a short time and if it was a hot and dry summer like this year….we are lucky to see any leaf change that isn't just green to brown and dead.
Girrrrrl, New England is allll the fall goals, haha. Gorgeous shots!

Well, you've convinced me that I definitely want to visit New England this time of year! So weird, too, but I've always been fascinated by the Salem Witch Trials, so I would love to visit the actual town and learn more about it. These pictures are so cute of you!
New England definitely looks beautiful in the Fall, totally am going to miss leaves changing colors over here!!
As if I needed more reasons to visit! New England is truly the perfect place to be this time of year.

New England is one of my dream locations to travel to during the Fall, and I really hope that I'm able to one day! The colors always look so beautiful, and I totally wish that I could wear sweaters and boots right now without sweating! It's still in the 90s in Texas!
It's seriously so beautiful!!
I enjoy most of the northeast part of the country in the fall – we do it the best!
I love your fall outfit! I need to schedule a visit up there this time of year and see all of the beautiful fall things, we do not get it. I have always wanted to do Salem during Halloween. Good for you for just picking up and moving! You made a wonderful choice!
I love your outfit! Looks like you really enjoyed yourself! π

I bet Boston is just gorgeous in the fall! Love the look!
I LOVE New England. I actually planned to move to Boston after college too, but then med school happened! I still hope to live somewhere in New England someday. π
Great location and outfit.
Now, I thought I was brave when I moved to Michigan in 2001 (knowing NO ONE but my husband who I wasn't even really "with" at the time)…I had found a job here before I moved here. You are brave!! I remember how hard it was in 2009 to find a job (I lost my job due to downsizing in 2007, hence blogging!!)…….I admire your guts! Love the Boston area and can see why you fell in love with it! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
Biana, you look so stunning in your fall look! Love it! You are right, New England is the best in the fall! Thanks for sharing so many stunning pics!

I want to visit New England so bad! It's been on my life for forever. Once we move back to the States, I'm making it happen! xoxo
Fall in New England is absolutely gorgeous!
I have to admit, New England is definitely gorgeous in the fall! But I think I want to come visit in the spring! As absolutely beautiful as that fall foliage is, I love the flowers up there in the spring. But I am jealous of your fall activities! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
You are SO gorgeous! I just love your outfit! I have family that lives in Boston and we were hoping to make it up there this year but with the wedding planning it just hasn't happened! Maybe next year we'll plan it and DEFINITELY around fall!

Reason # 6– to see YOU!! Must. Plan. Visit. Next. Fall!!! Love your fall gear; hoping the cooler temps will come back to us- we had a taste of them and now it's hotsy totsy again! XOXO, R
I am absolutely DYING to visit your stomping grounds in the fall. NC does get super cold but it usually isn't until December/January and I am already itching to wear my winter clothes by like September haha

I never really had an itch to visit Boston, but after coming across you and your blog…I now do! It looks gorgeous! And I would love to go during the fall…we don't get pretty fall foliage like you guys do.
You look fabulous, by the way, love the olive trend lately!

There are so many things why I love living in New England. One of my favorites is totally going apple picking in the fall. I love fall. I wish it lasted a little longer. I'm a total leaf peeper, i love going around seeing all the foliage.
I'm so glad you decided to move to Boston, you're such a gem this city needs! I've always wanted to do the Connecticut wine trail, can we go sometime!?

It's so beautiful up there in the fall! We're actually thinking of moving back up north because we miss the seasons so much =)
Visiting New England in the fall is on my bucket list. My parents went when I was a kid and loved it. All the fall foliage is just dreamy!
I think it's so cool that at such a young age, you already had a plan for yourself. Not only that, but that you actually did it! Bravo! Why haven't I visited New England yet?! I know I would fit in. The weather, the history, the food! (;
Such gorgeous photos!! I love the north eastern part of the US – not been to Boston yet, but would love to visit soon! xx
This is totally on my bucket list! Fall in the Midwest is great, but I'd love to head up the east coast!

I read this while wearing a tank top and shorts here in SC, blasting the AC. Am feeling a bit jealous because you can wear actual fall clothes right now. π
Wow when you put your mind to something, you make sure it happens which is admirable! I had a similar experience when I moved to Florida not having any family & maybe a handful of friends but I guess it's easy to meet people in college. Anyways, besides the point, we are really lacking the Fall experience in Florida which is one thing I do love about northern states…you can't beat the beauty of that foliage and comfortable weather!
Fall and New England definitley do go hand in hand! I've never been to MA during the season, but a friend of mine went to college in Vermont and I would visit her there occasionally. It's so gorgeous! I love the idea of apple picking in the fall as well – and had no idea there were wineries up there! Def a fun activity!

That is the number one thing I miss about not living in Boston anymore! Fall is so beautiful! The crisp mornings, blue skies, sunshine and all the fun activities!
Growing up in New York, fall on the East Coast is my love language. I have always wanted to visit Salem, it just seems to be so interesting and dare I say a little magical??? Ha! Have a great day!
You had me sold at the fall colors and foliage. So beautiful!
Love your casual weekend look Biana! There's nothing like fall in New England! I went to college in NH and lived in Boston afterwards for a few years and I still miss it to this day! I've never heard of the CT Wine Trail! I definitely need to look into that!
Taffeta & Tulips
New England in the Fall is just so perfect. I have to get up there asap! You should definitely do the CT wine trail! We did a girls' weekend and rented a cute cabin right across from Gouveai. Highly recommend!!
I have always wanted to visit New England in the Fall. I love that part of the country. It looks gorgeous!

Like I've said a billion times…I really want to go to NE sometime. The fall colors look beautiful! That first photo of you is awesome! So pretty!
I totally think that New England may do fall better than anyone. I'm insanely jealous of all your NE fall adventures… and I'd love to check out Salem anytime, but especially around Halloween. It was on my original Boston list the first time I visited… but I haven't made it there yet.
You can't beat NE in the fall–it's the prettiest place and it really defines fall to me. All of those traditional fall activities and such.
We are moving there in a few weeks. This seems encouraging. Being from the Deep South, I can't say I'm not nervous.
