We made it through another week & we’re getting that much closer to the end of the year and to winter. Just as with most of the country – it’s frigid today and I can already start to feel my skin starting to dry out. To combat this I’ve started a new routine and thought I would share the few products that have been working for me recently!
My routine actually starts as soon as I get home! Almost immediately after walking through the door I can’t wait to shower and get comfy!
Serums & Moisturizer ||
Serums & Moisturizer ||
I’ve just started using serums on top of, well actually prior to, my long time favorite moisturizer. I was recently introduced to Poethique – a natural radiance boosting serum with actual lime caviar extracts!! I really love the philosophy of the brand and feel good about putting the serum on my face. I also mentioned the serum that I have been using every night before bed from Kiehl’s that was specifically created for my problem areas and works over night with retinol to combat those fine lines. I use the Poethique serum after the shower – it works for about 3-4 hours and then when I start to get ready for bed, I wash my face and put the Kiehl’s serum on. I use both about 3 time a week, but the Kiehl’s serum I use every night.
What’s great about the serums is that you can put your moisturizer on top. For me it feels like it keeps everything working overtime!! At first I felt like a serum would be really oily, but after you work it into your face it doesn’t feel much different than a moisturizer. Speaking of – Josie Maran’s whipped face butter is the best! I’ve had it since June & I know I’ll be purchasing it again when this one runs out. The reason I like the butter is that it actually lives up to it’s name – it feels like a thick cream without a scent – which I really appreciate before going to bed and a little goes a long way.

This last year I’ve paid very close attention to my eye area. While I understand that getting wrinkles here and there is just part of life, I’m not sure I’m ready for that part of my life π In order to combat that I’ve been slathering theKiehl’s creamy eye treatment with avocado and have subsequently gotten every woman in my family hooked on it! I’m on my second bottle & use it every single night before bed. I will unequivocally say that it has reduced the dark circles under my eyes and while I wont say that it’s gotten rid of any fine lines, it has reduced their appearance which I’m very happy with!
I’m preparing my lips now for the possibility of getting chapped – the cracking is the worst in the morning if you aren’t careful. This little vaseline lip therapy is perfect to dab on right before bed and when I wake up in the morning my lips are still moisturized and thankfully not cracking! Here’s hoping that it lasts through the winter!!
My hands also tend to get very dry – especially the area near my pinkies! First Aid Beauty is my go to and has been all year! I don’t like anything to have a scent before going to bed and this hand cream seeps right into my skin and doesn’t feel greasy at all! My motto is lather, lather, lather to keep my hands from cracking!!
So tell me – how do you combat dry skin in the winter? Are you a fan of serums?
I was sent a sample of Poethique to try – all opinions expressed are my own!
my skin is so dry in the winter, especially my face! That whipped face butter sounds awesome. I always use coconut oil, grapeseed oil or rose oil on my face for really dry areas. Have a great weekend!
Curel lotion is my tried and true remedy for the body!
My hands get really dry in different places and they crack by my thumbs so I always try to use a thick hand cream. My favorite is from Aveda and I actually use the foot cream for my hands because it's so thick…and it smells wonderful!

That face butter sounds wonderful! I also love the origins face mask you ment
Ohhhhh so many great products here girl. I'm with you about the eye creams, you can never start too early in my book! I need to check out that First Aid Beauty, I like that it doesn't have a scent.
I still need to try First Aid Beauty! I was showing my mom the line of products when we were at Ulta the other weekend — so much to pick from! As soon as I finish up my current hand cream, I need to buy this! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Biana!

I do like that eye cream and now that I've had baby, I'm excited to introduce some of my antiaging serums back in to my routine! They were a big no no while pregnant. Rosy Lips is something I use every single night, there is nothing better! Hope you have a great weekend!
My skin is so dry this time of year too. My daughter loves the First Aid Beauty products. I think I need to try that Josie Maran face butter!

My skin is the same year-round, so I don't change much at all. The eye cream from Kiehl's sounds like something I would like. I use a morning eye cream from Originis but my night-time eye cream isn't really all that great. I will definitely have to purchase this one once I run out. Hope you have a great weekend!

Amazing round up! On a cold day, the first thing when I walk through the door too is a nice hot shower. It's the only way for me to truly warm up! Love that you have Kiehls as a part of your routine, that eye treatment is the best! Happy Friday gurlie <3

I've heard such great things about all of these brands, especially Kiehls and Josie Maran; that butter cream sounds amazing, I'll have to check it out. You know what's weird is that my face doesn't get dry at all during the winter, only my lips! It's SO annoying because no matter what I've tried to use, nothing really seems to work at keeping them consistently smooth. Have you ever used anything that's worked for extremely chapped lips? If so, do let me know! Thanks for sharing your routine with us, girlie, and I hope you have the best weekend ahead!

Ok, I need to make that eye cream apart of my routine. It's no secret here my eyes are my problem area and I've had crows feet since I've been like 16. What can I say, I smile a lot π I haven't really been able to find anything yet that I'm in love with and keeps me wanting to buy it. Hopefully this will do the trick! Have a great weekend, girl! xo Beautifully Candid
I definitely need to step up my skincare game. With 30 rapidly approaching I think it's time to get serious about it!
Great round up! My skin care routine changes in the winter as well since my skin always gets so dry. I've always wanted to check out Keihl's products, I def need to get on it!

My skin definitely needs more care during the winter months, and all of these products sound so fabulous! I can't wait to check out the Poethique serum.

Skin issues are the worst part about the cold weather in my mind! My poor, cracking hands — between washing them 100000 times to keep students' germs away and the cold, the only thing that helps is the Aquaphor healing lotion (i.e., practically vaseline)! Looks like you've got your routine down to a science! (Not shocked!) XOXO, R
Dry skin in the winter is so frustrating!! I use the Kiehl's body lotion, rose balm for my lips and hands, Vaseline on my feet and hands with socks, and BeautyCounter face moisturizers to combat it.
I can't stand dry skin! I put lotion on my hands (Jergens) at least 5 times a day. I do love the Confidence in a Cream by it Cosmetics – it's done a great job both in hot and cold weather! And yes to Vaseline lip therapy! It's how I survive!

I swear by the fresh sugar lip treatment for my lips, so amazing. I am suddelnly out of eye cream, i'm trying that Kiehls one for sure!
I loveee the pink Vaseline! I wish they still sold the bejeweled one!! I use mine nonstop and it's perfect for a touch of color when your lips are so dry from the cold!

I up my water intake like crazy in the winter, but also use a serum from Acti-Labs. It has a forget me not on the front it, but the name escapes me. (: It's nice a few times a week when I need extra moisture. (:
I'll use a Vitamin C serum a few times a week but not daily.
More water in the winter and I used a humidifier at home!
I seriously need that Kiehsls eye treatment. I have been using vitamin c serum a couple times a week and I have seen some good results.
I was totally just looking at several different eye serums at Target but I don't even know where to start!
Vaseline is such a life saviour in winter XD

I love anything made by Kiel's! I don't have to worry too much about harsh winters, but sometimes in January I need a little routine change to my skin.
I've heard such great things about those Kiehl's products! I need to give them a try finally!

That avocado eye cream sounds so amazing, as does the First Aide lotion! I can feel my hands starting to crack during this time of the year, so I definitely need some sort of hand moisturizer to help combat that.
I am just POURING coconut oil lotion all over my body right now.
& my lips are like cactus… tis the season
I have always had awful dark circles and really thin under-eye skin, so wrinkles become visible really quickly. I am in desperate need of a good eye cream but I've wasted so much money on ones that do absolutely nothing, I've put off buying a new one until I found a good recommendation. I am definitely going to check out the Keihl's!
These all sound great! I wish I could tell you what I use when it gets cold, but…. lol!! It's still so hot here!

It depends where I am! At home I use serum and oil lotions. Traveling or at the office I always carry an moisturizing cream!
It is starting to get frigid!! And my face is getting so dry. This is perfect. I need something new to try!
Serums and oils are SO necessary! I feel like my face is a desert right now π
Thanks for the info. I am such an idiot when it comes to beauty!

I need to try that eye cream – I have been using one from Clinique and am not quite sure it's the right one for me!
It's not even cold so much in Florida but I could use all the moisture possible especially the lip therapy. I'm going to have to get one of those!
I still think it's so awesome you got that custom serum! I think because I don't like avocado, that eye cream makes me nervous, haha. But it sounds amazing and I'm in desperate need of an eye cream, so I might actually give it a try. Is it scented at all? My hands get so dry in the winter so I've been trying to stay on top of keeping them moisturized this year so they hopefully don't get super dry. I don't like anything too scented most of the time, and I've never tried FAB, so I'll keep my eye out for that one!
Great products! Skin care is so important especially during winter! =)

My skin has been horrible this winter, I need to remember to grab a little Vaseline and that Kiehl's with avocado sounds great, I'll have to try it!
I have never tried any of these products! I need to try them!

I just got a Kiehl's gift set for Christmas and can't wait to try the eye treatment! I am going to grab that vaseline lip therapy next time I'm out, it's sooooo cold here and my lips are started to chap and my regular stuff isn't cutting it!
Ugh, this cold air is wreaking havoc on my skin! I need to try these serums you mention, it's the only thing I have yet to try on my skin.
Heard a lot of good things about those brands. And I always keep my mini Visaline in handy.

I've been using serums and face oils for years and they've done wonders for my skin!
I do love the Vaseline lip therapy! I need to try the rosy one π So…did you buy the velvet pants?!
I've heard great things about First Aid Beauty! I need to try their products – have you tried their face creams??
xx beauty blether
A good serum is worth its weight in gold. Seriously!
i basically had no skincare routine until the start of this month, and i'm trying to use everything i bought for like 2-3 months before changing or deciding. so far, no fine lines or dark circles have disappeared π rude. i'll have to check out the kiehl's stuff, it sounds amazing.
I have definitely felt my skin getting drier over the past couple months. I usually use the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Moisturizer but I have switched over to the Ultra Repair Cream since it is heavier. I use their Ultra Repair Lip Therapy and Ultra Repair Intensive Lip Therapy when my lips are really dry or chapped. I need to invest in a good eye cream and serum. I am currently using the elf Eye Cream which I like but I know I should get something with anti aging benefits. I'll have to look into the Kiehl's one that you mentioned above.
