Another Friday is here! It’s been a whirlwind of a week with protests, rallies and a lot of learning, listening and acts of action on my part to do the right thing. I have found instagram to be such a great source of content and information – not only in finding incredible brands and creators to follow, but also watching and listening to stories. I’ve ordered more books, written to legislators and police departments, donated and I know that this isn’t enough, but it’s just the start.
Over the weekend we had a socially distant play date with my friend Linda. Our girls didn’t really know what was going on, but weren’t trying to play with each other – more so just excited to explore all the green space at UMass Boston. It was so nice to see our friends and we’re going to try to do more of that in the weekends to come.
We’ve also been going to the reservations surrounding Boston every weekend and Sophia is a natural! It only took us a few tries to realize that the carrier we used with her when she was smaller still works now – she lasted about 20 minutes on each of us and then wanted to walk and explore on her own!
At the risk of jinxing the weather here, we have been really lucky with glorious warm days – so warm that we bought a little pool for Sophia. Our condo doesn’t have any outdoor space, but there is a common area in the back that is perfect for a little pool – so we set up shop this week and I’m excited for her to get comfortable playing in the water for longer than 15 minutes at a time! Also, I picked up some cute suits from Target Cat & Jack’s line.
I forgot to mention The Idea of You as a recently read book and it was SO good! Solène is a divorced, 39 year old art gallery owner from LA with a 12 year old daughter who happens to be so into the hottest boy band out there – think One Direction. Solène takes a few of her daughter’s friends a concert where they get to meet the band backstage and she makes a lasting impression with one of the guys. When a lunch turns into meet ups in different cities – things start to get serious, but she questions if life with a 20 year old boy band member is really the life for her and even more, she doesn’t want to lie to her daughter who is closer to his age than her own. I flew through the book and really enjoyed the escape it provided!
Wishing you all a really great weekend!
Thank you for making me smile so wide.

I have The Idea of You on my reading list, I really need to get around to it. Getting to watch the kiddos play in the pool is so fun! Glad you guys have a space to do that! Hope you have a great weekend.
Love the what if 2020 is the year we’ve been waiting for. I’m praying for revival for our country!! 🙏🏻
I am adding the Idea of You to my list ASAP. I need a good light read about now. And I love the pic of her on the little bike. She’s the cutest.
Happy Weekend!
Love the picture of you and your friend social distancing, LOL! Your daughter's hair always makes me smile… she has so much and it's just beautiful. My kids never had a full head like that. Okay, that book is going on my list now; thanks for sharing!!!
That's so great that you were able to get out for a social distancing play date! I'd like to start doing the same thing with some of our friends! It's starting to get too hot here in the middle of the day, though, so we'll have to go early in the morning sometime!
I love the suits that you got Sophia and her pool. We have a smaller pool too because our backyard isn't that big either. Love social distancing dates! I need more of those.
Glad the weather has been nice– Sophia looks adorable in the carrier– and that makes for a pretty darn good workout too!!! XOXO, R
So much happening right now. Sounds like you have taken some great action! Thanks for sharing your heart.

We got outside to enjoy the beautiful weather too! I put the sprinkler out in the yard and instead of playing with it, Viv picked it up and watered all the flowers for me. Haha, that works too. I needed the laugh after such a heavy week. This week has been emotional but educational. I've learned so much and I really hope that together, we can continue to stand united and use our platforms to advocate for permanent change!

That meme is so true. what a way to look at it.
I just love seeing all the fun time you get to spend with Sophia during this time. There's something good in everything, isn't there. You'll look back & be so thankful for all of it when she grows up.
This year is definitely one for growth. Lots of changes are happening.
So cute that you got some sunshine!
