A Visit to deCordova Museum & Sculpture Park

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend – we lucked out with a taste of fall in the mornings and summer in the afternoons – nothing better! After living in Boston for so long, I’m always so excited when I find new things for us to do and explore. deCordova Museum & Sculpture Park is the perfect socially distant activity.

I purchased a timed entry ticket for when the park opened which was only $15 / car and then you are free to roam around for as long as you’d like. The museum is located about 30 minutes outside of the city and it felt like we were transported to the countryside! They suggest 2 hours to see everything and even with a two year old and a pit stop for a picnic, that’s exactly how long we were there.

There are over 50 sculptures ranging from the Two Black Hearts to two-way mirror glass & incredible garden and nature views. You can take many different paths to stroll at your own pace.

This is the coziest sweater from Target! Going to need it in all colors & under $30!

Plenty of overlooks to stop and have some snack and then continue on. Since we planned on staying through lunch time, I packed some PB&J sandwiches and other light bites to get us to nap time.

Next time I plan on bringing a mini stroller because as much as Sophia loves to walk on her own, walking that much with her little legs is a lot so we ended up carrying her quite a bit! I imagine the timed tickets will be part of the experience for the foreseeable future. A little tip – to avoid a lot of people, get 10:00 AM entry – this will give you at least an hour without a lot of people on the grounds. Then again, there are acres upon acres to explore so you have plenty of space.

I’m pretty sure you can tell from the photos, but it’s really easy to steer clear of people at deCordova Sculpture Park! We’ve done a lot of fun outdoor socially distant activities since March, but this may be one of my favorites!

How cool is this park?! I don’t believe I’ve ever come across a photo or article on it, it’s like a hidden gem! Definitely a must see; I’ll have to make note for whenever we do visit Boston. I’m sure Sophia had so much fun seeing all of the beautiful sculptures. Such great stimulation for her! I must say, you look STUNNING! I love the sunnies on you and that cardigan is gorgeous and perfect for fall. We’ve been experiencing the same weather in Connecticut, too. Everyday Aviah’s been asking me if it’s fall because she’s seeing and feeling the changes, haha. Have a great week ahead, girl!

Awww what a fun weekend! I love how you were able to have the park almost all to yourself with your family. Such an amazing feeling I bet just to get fresh air and not worry about masks. I have visited Boston three times and I still have so much to see! I can’t wait to visit this park with my son. He loves to run and the open space – it’s his cup of tea!

This place is so cool! I love those heart sculptures. It’s crazy that they stand up on the points like that and they don’t fall over.
