I am back today with a fun post on our favorite wooden toys and a great Fall Giveaway at the end! We have a good variety of toys for Sophia, from the Fisher Price stimulating ones to the wooden toys from various places. I’ve slowly started to gravitate more towards wooden toys for Sophia to play with, mostly because they are longer lasting and are eco-friendly too! Also, saves us the hassle of changing out batteries and the imaginative play is so fun! Some of these we already own and other’s are on the wishlist for upcoming holidays.
Roll Shape & Color Sorter || We have had this toy since Sophia was 12 months old. In the last few months she’s really started to grasp the shapes and colors and it’s not just memorizing for her, she actually seeks out the right place to drop them in!
Easel || I feel like I’m cheating a bit with this easel, since really that’s the only wooden thing about it. Everything else requires markers, paint, etc – but the easel itself is wood, so there’s that!
Sushi Slicing Set || Sophia got this as a gift and I’m sure that I have enjoyed playing with it a bit more than her #sushilover! You make the sushi rolls by combining different pieces together and then there is a “knife” that helps them with their cutting skills.
Scooping Ice Cream Counter || Another Melissa & Doug fantastic imaginative play set! It comes with money so Gary and I pretend to pay for our ice cream while she scoops it up and gives us all the toppings!
Cleaning Set || For any child that loves to “help” you clean, this is the best wooden toy set. We keep ours in the closet where my cleaning
Pink Tea Set || This is going on my to be purchased list for Sophia. I think as she gets a little older this year, she will really start to enjoy playing with her dolls and I can’t think of anything better than having tea parties with her dolls & stuffed animals.
Name Puzzle || We have a few different name puzzles for Sophia and not only does it help her learn letters, but it’s helping her spell her name. Let’s be real, she’s two so this is pure memorization at this point, but we’re trying here!
ABC & Numbers Tiles || I am really worried that not sending Sophia back to daycare might have a negative effect on her learning things. This is purely in my head, because she picks up so much every single day – so we’re doing something right. Anyway, this is small enough to fit on a table and not only can you do letters and animals, but you can also do numbers. Lots of learning with this toy!
Busy Puzzle Board || A combination toy of all the best wooden options. You have the name puzzle, shapes, numbers and movement. If your low on space for toys, this is the one I would get!

Wooden toys are my favorite. They are so classic looking and last much longer than the plastic ones made today. That busy puzzle looks super fun!
I love all of these! We have a balance of wooden toys and the annoying fisher price ones too. The easel has been a favorite of Zoe’s since she got it last Christmas and definitely gets used a lot. I love that it grows with her for awhile too!
Serena has that same Melissa and Doug cleaning set and it’s the cutest!

I get that wood name puzzle for birthday gifts all the time!
