Happy Monday, friends! Hope the weekend treated you well! We have been soaking up all the weekend fun and last week headed to Newburyport. A favorite costal town I have mentioned quite a few times on the blog. Each time we go, there is something new for us to explore and do.
What used to be a long drive is now less than a 30 minutes for us, which makes exploring that much more fun with a toddler in tow. We got to Newburyport around 9:30 and even though it was a long weekend, I was surprised with how few people were out, especially since we were due for a nice weather day! The overcast clouds quickly went away and the sunshine came through!
Parking is pretty cheap – pretty sure we paid $3.00 for the full time we were there. We love starting with the walk along the water and even though we brought our stroller it was more of a purse and drink holder since Sophia walked pretty much the entire time.
The main town square is perfect for a little sit down treat. I’ve never seen someone devour a cake pop faster than Sophia – that girl loves her sweets!
Plenty of cute streets to lazily walk down and we even stumbled upon a little playground behind the main shopping street, which worked out well since I popped into a few stores while Sophia played.
We popped into Anchor Pizzeria for a quick, but really tasty lunch outside. By this point it was starting to get much busier which was fine with us since we were planning on hitting the road soon anyway!
While we didn’t go into the Maritime Museum, Sophia did take the obligatory photo outside of it!
Depending on if you’re an antiquing fan, there is a great open market called Oldies Marketplace thats fun to look through! It’s not really my thing, but I don’t mind perusing to pass the time!
I honestly feel that if you’re visiting Boston you have to try to make it up to Newburyport. It’s quintessential New England and you wont regret it! Check out some of my previous posts linked above for other great restaurant options!
Newburyport was our first day trip when we were living up there and we loved it!! It actually reminds me a lot of Annapolis. That’s amazing you guys live so close now!

Such a great day trip, and LOVE that dress on you! We still bring the stroller with us sometimes for the same reason – it holds all the stuff <3
