Happy Monday, friends! We had such a full month with farm visits, birthday parties and making up for a rainy July with some trips to the beach.
Going to start with the last day of July because we made a trip into the city – stopped in to ride the carousel, say hello to some of the seals, grab some lunch at the waterfront and splash through the fountains! Sophia also made the transition to her big girl bed – which she decided she was ready for and we were more than happy to oblige!
We hosted a few friends and family for Sophia’s birthday which also happened to be one of the hottest days! Our girl had the best day!
Birthday weekend continued with a trip to the zoo and even though this one is smaller than the Franklin Park Zoo, we still like to visit the one in Stoneham. Also had my first (shocker I know) lobster roll of the summer and it was so good!
We’ve made it sort of a tradition to take her birthday off to celebrate just as a family. Our big gift was a little play house that I think we were more excited about than she was! We had a celebratory lunch at a new Shake Shack and some pool time!
The beach has quickly become our happy place this summer and it is so nice to see Sophia’s excitement seeing everything! We alternate between two North Shore beaches and get there right at 8:00 AM as the lots open so that we can beat the crowds! I captured the sweetest moments between Gary & Sophia reading a new book! He’s always so animated reading stories but this took the cake – I have never seen her laugh harder and I’m so glad that I have it on video!
Parlee Farms is one of our favorites and I was so happy that we made it to the pick your own flower field again! So many pretty blooms, feeding the animals and of course donuts – it’s a really fun morning outing!
Sophia was gifted the Storyteller Kit from Lovevery and it was such a special treat. The kit comes with everything needed to imaginative play! We made a fort, put together a puzzle and it came with a fully functional mop that has honestly made my life easier since Sophia cleans the floors almost daily now – ha!
We rounded out the month with a trip to the sunflower farm! It was still a little early for them to be super tall, but it was beautiful nonetheless! It is really wild to see how they follow the sun with the stems – makes sense with how they get their name!
As we head into September – that means it is BABY MONTH! I honestly cannot believe that we are almost at the end of this pregnancy and going to meet the newest member of our family! Looking forward to soaking up more days with my girl before life gets just a little more hectic!
What beautiful photos and memories made. I hope September continues to be as sweet.

I love how toddlers LOVE to clean! When does it become such a chore?! LOL
Awesome photos! My babies are 18 and I sure miss my little guys.
Best advice ever: let her help clean — meaning give her chores — when she’s still little. Not so that anything actually gets clean. But just so that she develops the habit.
So wish I had done that w/ my boys.

She is getting so big! Such a fun recap. I love those Lovevery kits. Patrick got one with a little camper that has a set of keys and he plays with it all the time. Baby month. So exciting!!!
