Happy Monday, friends! It’s August which means my baby girl is about to turn three and we are one month closer to meeting the newest member of our family!! Not ready for time to keep moving this fast! I think between moving, getting settled and life I haven’t had my usual get up and go to read! My last post on books was in May, so here are a few reviews in case you have them on your to be read list!
People We Meet on Vacation || This book has really been everywhere and I snagged it while there was a kindle deal. It took me a really long time to get through this book and to be honest, I didn’t get the hype. The writing was nice, the characters were okay, but it wasn’t anything that stuck with me. Probably why it was so hard to finish for me. Poppy & Alex were likable enough as characters and the writer kept alluding to what we all knew happened and yet, still just fell a little flat. Also, they travelled but didn’t get super into the travels and honestly didn’t meet all that many people on vacation so the title was a little misleading!
The Grace Kelly Dress || Following three generations of women all wearing the same wedding dress, you get to learn about their lives and love stories. One is set in Paris in the 1950s, the other is her daughter in the 1980s in New York and finally the latest wearer of the dress, her granddaughter in the 2000s. I actually enjoyed the story of the grandmother much more than the other two women and it was a good enough book, but I truthfully didn’t really get into it until the very end when everything started coming together. Each has her own secrets, her own battles but yet when it comes to the wedding dress, no matter the alterations it takes, it’s still the Grace Kelly dress!
Happy and You Know It || If you were a fan of the Nanny Diaries then you will like this book. Of the three books on this list, I enjoyed this one the most and read it faster than the other two. Claire was in a band and finds herself now singing for a mommy playgroup on Park Avenue. She couldn’t be more different from the moms but somehow gets entangled in their drama. Each of the moms in the playgroup have their own issues, mostly related to motherhood. I think I enjoyed the book because it is quite relatable, but there is the crazy factor which makes it fun to read! Think influencer drama! Definitely recommend!
I just started Paper Cranes which is part of Kindle Unlimited, still love that program. Please share a good book youโve read recently so I can add it to my list!
Iโm having a tough time finishing up People we meeet on Vacation too. Just ordered Falling by TJ Newman I believe, heard itโs wonderful and The Invisible Husband of Frick Island.
Ooooh Happy and You Know It sounds so good! Nanny Diaries was one of my favorite books so I’m adding this one to my list right now!
I really enjoyed People We Meet on Vacation, but I totally get your perspective on it. That’s why it’s always so interesting how books hit people differently!

I really enjoyed People We Meet on Vacation, but it falls in my usual favorite genre. I get what you are saying about how the title is misleading though! Happy & You Know It sounds really good, going to add that to my list!
I need to read Happy and You know it. I loved the Nanny Diaries. Happy Monday.

Good to know about People We Meet on Vacation because it’s gotten SO much hype and I was intrigued! Glad for your honest review! Sometimes I think fun covers and timely titles (perfect for those beach reading Insta snaps!) are what make a book extra appealing. ๐ Have a fun week! xo
Whooo – that freaked me out – Happy & You Know It has a different cover from the one I have.
I have heard a lot of good things about People We Meet on Vacation. I have never read the Nanny Diaries, but I am interested in Happy and You Know It.
