Five Press On Nails To Try

Happy Monday, friends! I am so excited for today’s post because I am going to be reviewing all the press on nail kits that I have tried over the last few months. Since having Mason I have not gone to get my nails done and for anyone that knows me, knows that I LOVE to have my nails done. I love to get tips on my nails and then do dip – that takes a little over an hour and right now there are other ways I would want to spend that hour. I picked up a random press on nail kit at Target one day and I have been hooked since!

One thing to note, all the nails that I have tried are applied with nail glue, they are not the ones with the sticky bit on the inside of the nail already – those pop off too quickly for me. I am also very tough on my nails – I do dishes multiple time a day, am constantly using hand sanitizer and some might even say clumsy because I am always banging my nails on something. If I remembered to snap a photo of my nails, I will add them in the post.

Kiss Acrylic Set

This was the first set that I tried! It took me about 20 minutes total to find the right size for my nails and then apply them. Since this was a french style, I couldn’t cut them down to the size that I would normally want, so they were a tad longer than I am used to. With that being said, these nails stayed on for 10 days without one even so much as popping off. I actually removed them all myself because I was ready for a new set. Overall I would give these a solid 8/10. If you have longer nail beds then the length probably wouldn’t be an issue for you, but my nail beds are very short.

Glamnetic Press On Nails

While this was the most fun design that I bought, these were the flimsiest nails of all of the ones that I tried. They stayed on for about 7 days without popping, but I had to replace one a couple days in because it snapped in half while getting Sophia out of her carseat. They were bendy and again I couldn’t really shape them to be shorter because of the design, but it would be fun for vacation or an event – not every day nails. I would give these a 5/10.

Mani Muse

I got a targeted ad on Instagram for Mani Muse and was hooked! I have placed 3 orders since my first one and for a small business they are extremely quick with shipping! They make three different nail shapes and I love that I can file these down. There aren’t a ton of colors or styles to choose from, but I really like supporting this small business. I have applied three different sets and with two I had really good luck – 12 days of wear. With the other set however it was flimsy after about 5 days but I think this was due to my application rather than the nails themselves. Solid 8/10 – would be higher if they had more of a selection!

How about that fortune?!

Static Nails

I was introduced to Static Nails during the first lockdown when all the nail salons were closed and we were getting desperate to get our nails done. Believe it or not, I tried to order a couple of times but they were continuously sold out because of such high demand. Fast forward 2 years and I was finally able to order a few sets during their Black Friday sale. These are nice and strong but my only pet peeve is that the larger nails for the thumb dont fit quite right and it feels like there is always a little bit of air in between the nail and the fake nail. The color selection is great, the quality of the nails is really nice and the staying power is pretty good – about 8-9 days. You could definitely use other sizes to extend the life of the nails if one pops off. They are technically reusable, but there is something strange to me about reusing nails that I have already worn. I would give these a solid 8/10.

Olive & June

Once again during the lockdown, I purchased the Olive & June manicure system. I liked the colors and that the nail polish is pretty clean. I got an email that they were releasing a press on manicure line with fun designs but also their wide array of colors. Unfortunately after I placed my order it took a month to ship – their customer service was helpful in that the order was going through, but they blamed shipping which just wasn’t the case because I was getting all other packages from California (where they distribute from) so it seemed like they were just slow. The nails themselves are my favorite that I have tried! 10/10 for staying power, color options and lengths to choose from. They also feel and look the most natural in my opinion. Each set is $10 and you get a lot of nail options – enough for two full sets out of them.

Since doing nails at home, my real nails have grown and become so much healthier. Personally, I like having longer nails and my real ones dont grow that long, but once things settle down and I have more time I will probaby go back to getting manicures. I wont be getting tips with dip anymore – but when I am craving long nails I can do them myself in under 20 minutes. The time I get back from doing nails on my own is just the best! Press on nails have come a long way. Between the selection, the different brands to choose from and the quality – I will not be spending $80 on one set when I can get 10 sets for that same price and like the outcome even more!

Are you a fan of press on nails?

I’m the total opposite — I always ask my nail tech to cut my nails as short as possible, haha! I haven’t tried press-on nails since I was much younger, but my stepmom just opened her own business creating custom lux press on nails, and they all look gorgeous (albeit long!). 😆

LOVE! I’ve been wanting to try press on nails since I usually only pay for pedicures at the nail salon. I’ll get a gel mani if we’re going on vacation to ensure they don’t chip while I’m away, but other than that I do my own nails at home. I do like to keep them shorter though since I’m always doing dishes and cleaning around the house and wonder if I could cut these down to preference. So so pretty!

I cant stand the feeling of press-on nails or any of the kind…but I am all for manicures at home! I want to try the Olive and June polish from them directly, as the Target one weren’t my favorite but so many people rave about the brand. When I want to get fancy with my nail design, I turn to my friend that sales Colorstreet. I wish I could do press-ons, they look so much more polished. Pun haha!

I used to get my nails done and that was such a treat! Fast forward to the present and I rarely get to get them done. I do my own nails but it’s seriously just adding polish. Even then, waiting for them to dry feels like ages. I bet a press on nail would be the trick to get them done in no time. I would be up for trying Static Nails!

I love the idea of doing press on nails, but I get my nails done every three weeks. If that changes, I will look to this post for inspiration!

    I love this idea!
