9 Months With Mason

I am going to sound like a broken record, but I cannot believe that Mason is already 9 months old! The last update was for 6 months and while it doesn’t feel like a lot has changed, he has mastered some new skills and is so much more independent! The biggest change is that Mason started daycare at 7 months old! He started a lot sooner than Sophia did, but we’re all adjusted and he seems to really love his time there and his teachers are just the best!

I am truly obsessed with this little boy! He is such a ray of sunshine and smiles that cheeky little smile practically all day long! Not quite crawling yet, but basically scoots around to get where he wants to be 🙂 He is an eater and will probably eat us out of house and home by the time he’s in middle school! His favorite thing to eat – Bambas – cannot get enough peanut butter, which I let out a big sigh after doing that allergen with him. Exhibit A below 🙂

He just said his first word “dada” last week and while I’m not entirely sure it was to actually address Gary, Mason did repeat it multiple times, so we are counting that as the official first word!

Sophia and Mason still have such a beautiful bond! There are definitely moments when Sophia doesn’t want to share with him, but for the most part she is so incredibly loving towards Mason and wants to see him hit all his milestones. She’s the sweetest cheerleader – now that’s he’s getting so close to crawling she roots him on! If we need to calm him down for whatever reason, she says “it’s okay buddy” or “you’re okay buddy” – it’s seriously so cute! I know it won’t always be this sweet between them, but for now they are okay!

Sophia refused to let me take the lipstick off that she so liberally applied LOL! She also insisted on wearing her Luisa dress! Honestly, some battles aren’t worth having and that’s why the black and white photos will be the ones printed!

Also, you can probably tell some of these photos are not like the others – Kelsey from Ford Roots Photography reached out and asked to take some pictures of us and I was more than happy to oblige!! I absolutely love these photos – especially the black and white ones and pretty sure one of these will be our holiday card photo!

What he’s loving:

• Like I mentioned he loves bambas, so we get a super large bag from Target or Trader Joe’s
• I haven’t bought him a ton of new toys – poor kid has a lot of Sophia’s hand me downs in that department, but he loves the Activity Cube – keeps him enthralled for quite some time.
• This little Fisher Price Ring Stacker is only $7 and we’ve had it since Sophia was little. Mason loves to try to put them back on the stack and also loves to bang the circles together

Next up, planning this little guys first birthday party! I have been wanting to do the “Wild ONE” theme since before he was born, so that’s what he’s getting 🙂 It is mind boggling to me that he is so close to turning one and that the first year is flying by!
