Happy Monday, friends! Some weekends are worth documenting here on the blog and this past one was just that! I could tell Sophia has been craving some solo time with me away from the house and I decided to treat her to some donuts and playground time on Saturday morning! I didn’t get a photo of my sister joining us, but one of the perks of living so close are the impromptu meetups we can have now!
We asked our former nanny to come hang out with the kids on Saturday afternoon so that Gary and I could have a little day date! At the start of the year we made a pact that we would try to prioritize dates – however they can come to us! As of right now we have only had two in 6 months – not that great, but here’s hoping we can get at least one in a month for the rest of the year!
We went to Dryft right on the beach in Revere. The entire area is really changing and it’s a few stops away from downtown Boston – actually there’s a train stop right near the restaurant. It was a beautiful day so naturally we asked for a table outside. I opted for lobster and crab cake eggs Benedict. I actually haven’t had eggs Benedict in a few years and it was so delicious! I decided on brunch and Gary wanted to try the chicken parm – also delicious! We split the buffalo cauliflower as well as the sautéed spinach. Service was efficient and they were nice and honestly I appreciate quick service because when you’re limited on time out, there’s more that I want to do than just eat at a restaurant.
My sunglasses are Le Specs – Air Heart Style and my absolute favorites for summer!
Our Father’s Day was really low key, mostly due to the poor weather, but if you know Gary then you know that he prefers to have a day at home over going anywhere! A little playing, a little breakfast making and me taking Sophia to swim while Gary got to relax with Mason at home! Divide and conquer, always!
Clearly the highlight of the weekend was getting a few hours out of the house and just relax! We also went to Assembly Row, an outdoor shopping spot just outside of Boston. They have a lot of factory outlets and I did a little shopping – best purchase was this active skort from J.Crew Factory. Hope you have a great start to the week!
Looks like an absolutely perfect weekend! Fun, family and a date is a recipe for happy!!
Good for you – date nights/days are so important. You two are the priority – your kids will take note of that & know what to look for in their own future relationship. Makes you stronger as a TEAM with those little ones!
Sounds like the perfect weekend! Chris and I try to do lunch dates on Fridays while Zoe is at school to get a little one on one time in. So important! Hope you all have a great week!
Your weekend sounds amazing. The food from your date night looks yum.
