Happy Thursday, friends! Even though I have four books that are all great, there were three that started in March and just couldn’t even make it to the halfway mark because they were just so blah!

Just the Nicest Couple || WOW! This book was so good! If you love a good suspense and thriller, then this is the next read for you! Jake goes missing after a petty fight with his wife Nina. Nina is beside herself and when she confides in her friend Lily, she doesn’t realize that she may have been the last one to see Jake alive. What unravels is a true mystery – is Jake still alive? Who was with him last? Why is her home being broken into? Honestly, there were points that I thought I had it figured out and right up until the last chapter I was still surprised! Really thrilling and I always enjoy Mary Kubica’s writing style.

Rock Paper Scissors || I took a poll on Instagram while reading this book if I should continue at 150 pages in. The consensus was, YES! The book moved so slowly and the writing was a little all over the place in my opinion. But when I tell you that my mouth literally dropped open at the twist – I just didn’t see it coming AT ALL! I’m really glad I stuck with it because the book ended up being really good! Adam and Amelia win a weekend away in Scotland and are trying to treat it like a second honeymoon since things haven’t really been right between them in a long time. The only issue, they aren’t alone. There are so many secrets, so many lies and what’s even crazier, Adam has face blindness – so is his wife even his wife?! I have heard this isn’t her best book, so I’m going to try some others by Alice Feeney!

An Honest Lie || This book really had me excited to read it and then it fell a bit flat for me. Rainy is living a new life with the love of her life and is trying to fit in with his friends. When they invite her for a weekend in Vegas, she’s hesitant because of everything she had to go through to survive and leave Vegas years ago. The only catch, no one knows about her odd and scary past. So when her friend goes missing and the only way to get her back is going back to the place she fears most, what will she do?! It had a lot of potential for me, but eh, I finished it because I sort of felt like I had to!

Follow Me || I actually found this book at the Dollar Store and couldn’t believe my luck! It’s by the same author who wrote the book which was turned into a show “Truth be Told” and this was a stellar read! Audrey is a influencer who loves her life and new job as social media coordinator for the Smithsonian in D.C. When she moves from New York, she rekindles her friendships from college and meets some new friends. All is good until she starts to realize that she’s being watched, followed and someone is definitely keeping tabs on her. I did figure out the “who done it” pretty early on, but I will say if you’re on social media, this will have you rethinking certain things you post!

I’m currently reading Spare by Prince Harry…and I don’t think I’ll be finishing, the writing is just not it for me. I feel like a need a good romantic book after all these thrillers, so send suggestions my way!

Have you read Every Summer After by Carley Fortune? I recommend that one. It was my favorite book I read in 2022.
