Phew, it feels good to be back!! It might be the first Monday of January and cold outside, but I’m really excited to get back into my routine and work off some of that holiday food that I so willingly indulged in!! Lots to recap so let’s get right to it.

We headed to New Jersey to celebrate NYE with my cousin and his fiancé. We had a pit stop in Hoboken before heading to the Russian Restaurant where the celebrations began at 10:30 PM…you read that correctly, this girl who is usually in bed by that time was ready to take on the night!
The food, the entertainment, the company were all amazing and seriously made for one of my favorite New Year’s Eve celebrations to date!
I was so happy to have found my dress at Lord & Taylor last Monday. Sadly you can’t see the gorgeous green statement earrings I wore, but they are from Benevolent Jewels and I’m slightly obsessed with them!! These are almost identical to the ones I wore.
We had to get in one final selfie of 2014!!
First day of 2015
We had an amazingly relaxing New Year’s Day with Kathy’s family hosting us and an incredible lunch, but there was too much going on to even capture any photos!!! The ones I did manage to get, this perfect mug that I need to find and eating one of the best pizza’s ever while finishing this last three episodes of Homeland!!

NYC Exploring
Since Hoboken is literally across the river from NYC, we had to sneak in a day of sightseeing…especially since neither Gary or myself has ever seen the city during the holidays.
First stop: Bryant Park…yes it was freezing and I was so thankful to have my new down puffy coat!
We made our way to Rockefeller Center which was my only request of the day since I really wanted to see the tree!
Saks 5th Avenue was another must see stop, especially since I had heard so much about the Enchanted Experience for their winter window display. They took a fun spin on Disney classics! Even Central Park in the winter is amazing!
We worked up an appetite and headed to Chelsea. The Meatball Shop was an obvious choice because well…who doesn’t like a good meatball? We all got some variation of the Naked Meatballs, but I think my classic beef with Parmesan cheese was the best choice!
We walked off lunch on the High Line and proceeded to take in the views!!
Of all the times I’ve been to NYC I’ve never gone to Chelsea or Gansevort Market – both left me starving!!! If you get a chance to visit Chelsea Market, please go to Doughnuttery – best donuts ever!!
To round out the day I witnessed a gorgeous sunset – in person it looked like a painting!!
The Rest
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing back home! We cleaned, we ate and we listened!! Listened to Serial that is!! Thank you to Jenn and countless other people that have recommended this podcast for a few months now, but we finished it all in two days and it was amazing!! If you haven’t listened to it yet, go and start it…if you have finished it, we can email about whether he’s guilty or not!!
Saturday night we finally agreed on a movie to watch and I have to say it was really good! Maybe it’s because I have a soft spot for any movie that was filmed in Boston! A lazy Saturday night followed by a relaxing Sunday was exactly what I needed to get myself in the “fresh start” state of mind!!

I have been wanting to try serial for awhile now. So many people have told me I need to. I sit in the car for almost two hours every day so I have zero excuse not to!
