Hello and happy Monday friends! We enjoyed a little bit of everything this weekend – from a nice dinner at home (thank you Trader Joe’s) to Escape the Room Boston with 8 of our friends to a leisurely Sunday strolling through the city – it was a perfect weekend! It was a lot of fun, but I didn’t take as many photos as I would have liked so I thought I would change it up today and share my favorite high end mascara’s! I’ve blogged about lashes before and how I fake the false lashes look, but I wanted to share my favorite high end mascaras that help achieve those full lashes!
Givenchy Noir Interdit($29) || Winner for having the most unique wand ever! The wand bends to a 90 degree angle and get’s those hard to reach lashes towards the inner corner of your eyes. I will say this is a bit of a “wet” mascara so careful not to sneeze or you’ll have a black eye to deal with, but all things considered, this is a great lengthening mascara!
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir ($26) || I think they named this mascara right by having “velvet” in the name! It’s such a smooth mascara, but my only gripe is that you do need extra strength remover to get it all off your lashes and eyes – or else hello raccoon eyes! It has a similar wand to another mascara on the list, but gives you volume all on it’s own, without the need of a lash primer!
Monsieur Big Lancome ($25) || This is the newest mascara that I was sent from Influenster for testing and oh my gosh is it good! It’s not yet available in stores, but I think it’s going to be a big hit! It comes in a bigger tube with a really thick wand – if you aren’t a fan of wet mascara’s then you might not like this one, but it doesn’t flake and doesn’t leave your eye lashes looking clumpy! You get incredible lift, volume and length – a power mascara that does it all!
DiorShow($28.50) || DiorShow will always have a special place in my heart because I used it on my wedding day! Oh the volume you get with this mascara – it’s one of, if not the best out there. Thick wand, nice consistency to the mascara that doesn’t flake and doesn’t give you spider like eyes – it’s one of my all time favorites! I find that I get the best volume with this mascara – it basically reaches my eyebrows!
Better Than Sex ($23) || I don’t think this cult favorite needs any explanation, but similar to DiorShow this mascara packs a punch! I think the wand just might be my favorite because it goes from wide to thin back to wide and you are able to pick up all of your lashes in one swoop! I usually opt for the travel size in this because it’s my favorite mascara to keep on hand at all times!
Lancome Definicils($27.50) || This mascara reminds me of my mom and sister which is probably why it’s one of my favorites. It’s one of the best lengthening mascara’s out there in my opinion – I usually pair this with a bolder mascara when I need more lift in my lashes. If your lashes have a natural curl to them then I think this is the mascara to use / try because it will automatically lift them and bring out that natural curl.

There you have it – my favorite high end mascara’s! I think a fun trick / strategy with lashes is to always use lash primer (this is the one I’m currently using) and then use one coat of a lengthening mascara and one coat of a volumizing mascara to get the double whammy! I totally needed this. I've been using some from Clinique and am all out. I know nothing about mascara since it's only been a couple of years since I started wearing it! The Escape Room sounds fun! Happy Monday!

I have tried so many of these thanks to Influenster too!! I liked the Givenchy wand, but I was hoping that the formula would be thicker, so I threw another mascara on top. BUT I am loving the new Lancome with the primer!!
I've been so obsessed with lashes lately I've even thought about getting lash extensions! Love all of these. I'm currently using DiorShow but BTS is definitely one of my favs. Can't wait to try the new Lancome! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
Too Faced is the absolute best mascara! I have teeny lashes ind it makes them look so thick!
Now that I've been doing the lash extensions I do miss being able to rotate through all my mascaras. Better than Sex is seriously ahhhmazing!
Oh I need to try more of these! I love Better than Sex and Dior, both excellent, but now I want to try them all. I seem to always sneeze when applying my mascara and it's a mess!

I've been wanting to try that Lancome one! Glad to know it's a favorite. I actually really love the mascara by It Cosmetics!
So I typically use a cheap dug store mascara that works wonders (l'oreale) but I REALLY want the marc Jacobs and thinking of getting it!
I love Diorshow so much! I for sure need to try the new Lancome when it comes out. I'm all about (and need) voluminous, lengthy lashes!
oh yes yes! i def agree with this list. i am going between better than sex and dior show right now and they are my ultimate favs. i always forget about primer but i usually skip it since using those alone makes my lashes touch my glasses lol. not complaining!

I've always wanted to try Better Than Sex mascara because I've heard so many great things about it. I'm all for the big lashes look–I love it! I recently got a primer to use before I use my mascara and I can really tell a difference using it, too!

I get the travel size for Better Than Sex too….it's perfect to throw in an overnight bag, and I can use it without a primer and it still looks great!
For my wedding, my makeup artist said that she SWORE by Cover Girl Lash Blast… She said she liked it even better than some of the high end stuff! I'm gonna give it a try when my current mascara runs out, because if I can save $15 per tube, that would be awesome!

So I think that the only one that I've tried is the Better Than Sex, and while everybody else seems to love it, it's not my favorite mascara ever. I definitely need to try the DiorShow and Marc Jacobs mascaras though! I'll add them to my list to try out next time Sephora has a big sale!
Wow, that wand is so interesting. I received a TWO FACED brand awhile ago and it was awesome. I need to get more of it stat.
I cannot wait to try Mr. Big. I have heard so many great things about it. I have the travel size version of Better than Sex and love it for touch ups during the day. Should probably splurge for the larger version.
I have tried DiorShow but not any of these others! I have lash extensions at the moment so I never wear mascara but I'm thinking at the wedding I'll be switching back to mascara and will have to give some of these a try!

We did an escape room too this weekend! I thought it was such a fun group activity! I haven't tried any of those mascaras other than Too Faced Better Than Sex, but I know that that one is great! I'll save this for my next Sephora shopping day. 🙂
I can never remember what mascara I bought previously whenever I go back for more (I'm talking $7 mascara at Target). So I always just get what looks good!

Gotta love mascara! The Marc Jacobs one is so good, and I'm sure Better Than Sex is amazing if it's anything like the cheaper L'Oréal one. I use the same formula to plump up my lashes – a primer is a must!

BTS instantly became my favorite the first time I tried it and replaced the They're Real one for me. I have always had a special place in my heart for Lancome too and I will have to try the new one when it comes out. Lucky you for getting an advanced tube to try!!!
I'm only familiar with the Marc Jacobs and Better Than Sex, which I haven't used in years! I agree, the MJ does take quite the effort to remove and I think that's why I had stopped using it for a while, I don't remember why I stopped using the BTS though! I love a good mascara experiment. Tarte's Light Camera Lashes is the winner for me. I like Dior too but it dries out so fast and gets gloopy on the opening. Have you tried Tarte's?

The Givenchy Noir Interdit wand is definitely intriguing…would love to try that one out! The only one of the bunch I have is the Better Than Sex Mascara and it really is an amazing wand for creating voluminous eyelashes. Based on the wands, the Dior Show looks equally as amazing! My mom has stuck with her Lancome Definicils since the mascara was probably invented so I know that's a great product depending on your lash look preference.

I spend an arm and a leg for Bobbi Brown makeup but one product that I like cheap better than high end is my mascara! It's Maybelline from Walgreens and it's the BEST I've ever tried! I have tried multiple high end mascaras and I always end up going back to my tried and true Maybelline. P.s. isn't is the worst when you sneeze right after applying?!
I just got the Monsieur Big from Influenster too, but I haven't tried it yet! I'm so excited to try it!
