Here I was thinking that I was packing too much & wouldn’t you know, definitely didn’t pack enough. The weather in California was a bit of an anomaly – I mentioned that LA has microclimates and I found that to be true in pretty much every city that we stopped in. They were pretty dramatic climate changes too – 20 degree differences in some parts. This forced me to be super creative with some of my outfits. I wanted to share a few of my favorite looks from the trip & also let you know which pieces were the most versatile.
Denim Jacket ||
In almost every single photo you’ll notice I’m wearing a denim jacket. This piece came with me everywhere – I’d roll up the sleeves to give it a different look or just toss it in the car when it got to warm, but for the most part, my denim jacket saved me on this trip! After buying my jacket two years ago, I fully believe everyone needs a good denim jacket at their disposal!
Chambray Shirt ||
Chambray Shirt ||
I love a great chambray shirt. I dressed it down during the day with a maxi skirt & dressed it up with a pencil skirt at night. It was the perfect piece that was both lightweight & multi-purpose. I don’t think I’ll go another trip without packing this!!
Utility Jacket ||
Utility Jacket ||
Once we got to San Francisco, I was growing a bit tired of the denim jacket – it had been a week straight of seeing it so I was ready to switch up my wardrobe. Thankfully I packed my draped utility jacket and it paired perfectly with the few blush items I packed.
Off the Shoulder ||
Off the Shoulder ||
I’m the first to admit this wasn’t necessarily the easiest look to wear, but it was one that I was most excited about. While some OTS tops can feel a bit constricting, I did think this one gave me a bit more freedom with my movements. I also love the one shoulder trend – only wore these tops once on the trip, but you’ll be seeing them a lot this Spring and Summer.
Hats & Slip on Sneakers ||
Hats & Slip on Sneakers ||
I don’t think I would have made it through our drive without my trust brunch hat. Even throwing my hair up in a bun would have wreaked havoc on it, so if you’re going to do the PCH in a convertible, a hat is a must, just make sure it doesn’t have the ability to fly away!! I also wore these blush Steve Madden slip on sneakers pretty much the entire trip! They made walking long distances comfortable & were easy to take on and off if we hit the beach for a quick stop.
These were just a few of my favorite looks from California – easy to travel with & most importantly comfortable. What are some of your favorite items to pack when you travel.

LOVE how you are paired the chambray shirt with that orange skirt. That skirt is just the cutest and it looks so good together!
So many great looks for California! I love the off the shoulder top and that bright orange skirt. A denim jacket is such a staple and perfect for the weather in California — those cold nights can be rough! Happy Monday, Biana!

I agree about everyone needing a denim jacket! The best thing is that they pretty much go with anything! I love your hair curly!

I love the chambray/pencil skirt combo. I still haven't found a chambray shirt I love…they tend to be so boxy. Also love the sneakers!

Odd weather or not, you looked cute no matter!
You look absolutely beautiful and stylish in every single photos, girlie! I LOVE that neon perforated skirt, it looks SO good paired with the chambray shirt. I also love that striped OTS and one shoulder top as well! I agree, a denim jacket is an essential and ironically, I don't wear mine all too much and I don't know why. Well, I think it's because I'm more partial to leather jackets, but obviously they can't be worn all spring and summer long, so I have to get myself used to wearing them more. I'm glad that those Steve Madden slip ons were comfy. I find his brand to be a hit or miss. Some shoes can be SO comfy and some can be the most painful shoes ever! Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a wonderful start to your Monday so far!

All of them are super cute! I could totally see myself in that maxi dress 🙂
It really is crazy how the weather in California can be hot one minute and then cold the next so having layers is totally key. Your denim jacket paired perfectly with so many outfits, and I also love a chambray shirt too!
The same thing happened to me when I was in SF. I had to buy more clothes!!!!
Microclimates or not, you looked adorable in every single photo! Very chic!!! XOXO, R

I love all your looks, but especially that striped OTS top! I'm with you on packing a chambray top on every trip!
Love all of your looks, so cute and perfect for travel. I need to wear my chambray shirt more often!
I love all of your looks, but I think the OTS top is my favorite, and that wall couldn't be better for the photo, haha. I just ordered a denim jacket finally and I'm really hoping it ends up fitting/I like it because it's one thing I always wish I have.
The jean jacket definitely came into good use! I can only speak from my experience in San Fran but the weather is always drastic from day to night so you really have to prepare ahead if you're going to be out and about for long periods of time. Loving the 3rd outfit with the ruffled sleeves. Looks like you packed a good mix of casual and dressy for your different adventures. Those shoes look perfect for lots of walking and exploring during the day.
Ha, California weather is crazy! I live in a pretty temperate area of SoCal but my sister is just an hour away and it's almost a 10 degree shift! Really weird weather, especially around the turn of the seasons.
